Why would they do that? They can't get HDMI right for a single product so far! If you have a problem look at HDFury products. They are not a fly-by-night company and have great products for a fair price. If you want a $39,99 switch that does everything - good luck!

There are plenty of HDMI switchers available, limited only by your budget and needs.

According to the HDMI standard HDMI 2.0 devices should be backwards compatible with HDMI 1.4 devices. Therefore, if everything is working as it should, ALL HDMI 2.0 switches are compatible with older HDMI standards. And, likewise, all HDMI 2.1 switches should be backwards compatible with both HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 devices. And, if that were actually true, there would be no purpose for devices like the HDFury...
Unfortunately not all HDMI 2.0 devices fully comply with the requirements of the standard... Or perhaps it's more fair to say that not all manufacturers interpret the details of the requirements exactly the same.
And it's equally true that not all older HDMI 1.4 or HDMI 1.4b devices fully met the requirements of those standards either...
However you are unlikely to find a switch that specifically claims "support for older HDMI versions"... Because compatibility with previous versions is automatically included in their HDMI 2.0 compliance...

HDMI is something you switch with gear in full compliance. Many are rather shaky in many areas there. There are many reputable solutions. Yeah they cost more. But they work well.

i'm getting to the point of to many hdmi devices and i have older gear within the 1.2/1.3 standard current solutions daon't have physical space and would like to hook up av components into the mix..
I do own a lot of hdmi devices and want to get into streaming I was asking more or less whether Emotiva was going to get into the streaming business was looking for an all in 1 solutions
as what is within the market space will likely cost 2-4k in purchase price..

I'm assuming you mean an actual physical component? The oldest HDMI device I own is a Blu-Ray player circa 2009. The newest I have is 2020. All have no issues going through the XMC-2 that I currently have (should be the same for all G3 Processors from Emotiva or any other manufacturer). My main streaming device is a Roku Ultra. I can access it in any room in my house with either a Roku device or my computer/phone. It streams all mainstream services. Roku devices start at $25 USD up to $100 USD. For streaming my personal content, I use a Raspberry Pi and a free program (Plex) that I can access all over the world as long as I have a wi-fi connection. Based on that, I'm not sure there would be enough margin for Emotiva to enter into the streaming business. They could design an expansion module for the RMC-1 that would basically be a "Roku-esque" streamer. But it would be hard to compete with a $25 USD or even a $100 USD for a "box" that one would HDMI into an existing processor.

alot of consoles and av gear that I own current 6/2 isn't enough for my use...
I have issues in the past Kieth that there is hand shake issues with 1.x compliant devices with 2.x compliant devices within that last couple of years .. over hdmi
currently for all junk hdmi mini switches whether they be powered or passive are useless
it would be nice to obtain something within 8/1 or 8/2 configuration without having use something that isn't suitable 20+ devices..
with all over pricing i have seen in matrix switches as options I think someone need to develop something that can can support something within the 500-1,200 price range so i thought I'd pose this question on the forums i'm not a rockerfella and spend 5k on something that should only have a street value of 500-1000 dollars
CURRENT LIST OF HDMI DEVICES
ONKYO 6 DISC DVD PLAYER 360 PS3 PS4 PS5 XBOX ONE X XBOX ONE S XBOX SERIES X PS1 MINI NES MINI SWITCH SNES MINI SEGA WIIU AND 2 BD PLAYERS..
AND THE LIST GOES ON
