Hello All....
Just installed my XMC-2 last night, and I have a few questions about channel connectivity as it relates to the XMC-2.
First of all, if this was covered in a previous thread, please point me in the right direction.... (Honestly, I did search before posting!)
Secondly, the Atmos concept/spec was announced 5 days before my basement drywall went up - so my Atmos speaker placements are based on my interpretation of the "specs" at the time (about 4-5 years ago). I did as much research as I could and pulled speaker cable for future Atmos speakers.
Here is what I have for speaker placements:
1 - Traditional Left, Center, Right in the front of the room 2 - Left and Right Side surrounds 3 - Left and Right Rear Surrounds 4 - Four in-ceiling speakers over listening area 5 - Left and Right "front height" speakers directly above the main Front Left and Front Right speakers (wall mounted Airmotiv E1 - front facing)
I don't have "width" speakers..... That concept was not available to me when I wired the room.
… so 13 speakers total.
All of the XLR outputs are pretty self explanatory.... My question is about connecting the Atmos speakers.
So far, I have the following Atmos XLR connections made on the back of the XMC-2:
1 - "LF Height" and "RF Height" are connected to the two speakers above my Left and Right mains in the front of the room 2 - "LR Height" and "RR Height" are connected to the rear-most in-ceiling speakers
I have no idea how to connect the front pair of in-ceiling speakers.
Any suggestions/guidance is appreciated....
Bob

I think I figured out the answer to my own question....
My front pair of in-ceiling speakers will be connected to "RSUB/HEIGHT" and "LSUB/HEIGHT".

I think I figured out the answer to my own question.... My front pair of in-ceiling speakers will be connected to "RSUB/HEIGHT" and "LSUB/HEIGHT". I don’t know if it’s possible to connect both front height and “top” front (ceiling) speakers in the XMC2. The sub/height connection does not have the top front setting available. It seems to be used for just the top middle. Seems like the configuration is limited in this respect.
