The SVS Prime Pinnacle looks very nice. Now I wish I could find out how it sounds.

Great and congrats on the winners. No real reachable for the common guy/gal. The SVS is close. Out of control audio. The Hisense TV is stupid good value too. Some Hisense TVs scored well with rtings.com. Wonder why I don't bother talking high end anymore? Look at 7/10ths of this list that most won't buy. By the way, your Grey Poupon is waiting for you on the curb.
Sensible Hifi for everyone. But hey you might just roll differently. Power to you.

High end audio has always been the rabbit in the dog race. Go dawgs!

I've been a big Denon fan for decades. Best bang for the buck has been the AVR-4xxx models. Year after year they get high marks because it was flexible & well designed. I can not tell you why, but the Denon AVR-5700 (1999, 5.1 ch) was one of the best sounding receiver for stereo playback that I've heard.

I had an AVR-5700 back then and loved it. At $2800 new, it was a huge "investment" for me. It eventually got replaced by the UMC-1 and XPA-5.

I got a customer loyalty discount- around $2475, which was a huge check to write for a receiver. Mine lasted until 2017 when too many electrolytes started going bad. I rewired one of the rear amps to power the LF channel for a year. lol Replaced with UMC-200 & XPA-5 that didn't equal the SQ -IMO. (Burr Brown DAC was hard to beat)

I had a bunch of Laserdiscs back then, and loved that they put all the DTS, Dolby Digital, and THX intros before the movies.
