You can see my setup below. I've levelled my speakers and get test tones out of all my speakers, so the processor/amp/speakers/wiring is good. But I've never heard any content out of my ceiling speakers (i.e. no atmos). Content with 5.1 and 7.1 works just fine. *** But the XMC-2 never switches into the Atmos mode. *** My Roku Streaming Stick+ Streaming Player (3810CA) is advertised as "passes Atmos", but I haven't found any Net-flicks/YouTube content that triggers the Processor to Atmos mode. (YouTube has Atmos demos). I've downloaded Atmos demos and played them on my HTPC, but they only give 7.1. None of my bluray disks have atmos, so I can't check the player. So: 1 - Atmos content is rare and I haven't found it yet? 2 - I've got a setting wrong on the XMC-2 or Roku and HTPC 3 - Any suggestions appreciated. Sincerely /blair

I also felt the same because even Atmos movies have sparingly small amount of directional content. Aquaman has some nice Atmos tracks and you sure feel like you are IN the movie with overall better envelopment when watching an Atmos movie.
As long as the XMC2 says Atmos when you hit info, it should be processing Atmos correctly.

I've got Atmos!
First I turned off my surround, sub and main amplifiers; leaving on, only the top/height amplifier. Then I started fiddling with all my settings, everywhere; listened again and now it works. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what/where change fixed it...
Sincerely /b
