I'm running into a issue where my listening room doesn't really have the space to have my XPA-7 amplifier. AKA wife hates the look of most AV rack based furniture, and if the amplifier was remote then the rest of the equipment is way smaller, lighter, and easier to deal with in just about any piece of furniture.
So my thoughts are what if I put the AMP in another room, closet, garage? somewhere that heat wont be an issue. So that leave wiring, Electrical is easy, speakers just a bit longer wiring but depending on my install location it might actually be shorter.
House is a 1 story with plenty of attic space, No I won't install it up in the attic, but plenty of room to run wires.
These leads to my Q. I'm assuming Balanced is better then using RCA cables. Any issues with running XLR balance cables to hook the amp to the processor? FYI I'm a newbi with this type of wiring, past knowing how to hook up. Any brand I should look at? Any worth looking at digital over analog rated ones? Any issues going 30 40 50 feet? Any issues with running it in the wall? Things I'm not thinking of? AMP turn on, appears to be a simple setup.
Guess I could also get a different 5 Chanel amp that's smaller, or take over a bedroom for a HT setup.

I would figure out the distance you need then buy a 7 channel snake cable. Snake just being where all seven XLR cables are in one casing. That will make it easier for running. The biggest issue will be getting them fished out of the wall due to the connection size. On the speaker cable end it’s really not ideal to run speaker cables that long, but the effect is fairly minimal. I would just go with a bigger cable like maybe a 12AWG or so to help with the length of the run. Depending on the brands of XLR and speaker cables you buy you may end up spending a decent amount of money though.

If you need ventilation should be fairly simple to add some.

You can mount everything in a closet and the only thing in your room would be speakers and wires. Just use an RF remote control system (or an IR repeater. RF systems are better)

What DYohn said & add a bathroom exhaust fan.
I bought a house that had a phonebooth off the hallway, ya, I said a phonebooth- with a glass door. Mounted a fan in ceiling, installed 2nd receiver, CD player & rack, Russound speaker whole house switch and had no heat issues.
edit- I powered the fan/light from the inside light switch.

Fan is an excellent idea. I recommend one that is thermostatic controlled so it only comes on if needed.

Did it take coins?

garbulky- lol, Yes, it had a corner shelf for the phone and a built in padded seat that opened for your secret stash. There's no proof that Maxwell Smart (Agent 86) once owned the house. You wouldn't believe the comments we got from friends... and everyone had to try it out. I did leave the phone in there just for grins.
btw, my wife did put a piggy bank in there (ya, she's twisted too)

There are so many ways to skin that cat (hidden AV/HT gear), try a search and see if you can find a solution that has WAF; Stealth; Industrial look; Clothes closet; Under the stairs; Instead of the Marshall fronted fridge, make a Marshall fronted AVT/HT rack; Happy New Year to All Gary
