Watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets last night. Audio dropout thru out movie. RMC-1 screen info would pop up showing the audio switching from dtsHDma to PCM 7.1 then back to dtsHDma. Center channel also sounds weak. There was also a single incident of popping sounds. As in most cases I don't know if its the RMC-1, HDMI cable, or network interface between Zappiti mini 4K and the Zappiti 4K NAS. I've ordered two HDMI 8K cables from Amazon as a place to start trouble shooting the problem.

Mine was pretty solid until I bought a 4K TV two days ago. This morning I cannot get it to bring up audio at all, and the XMC-2 keeps switching to input 2, which has nothing connected to it. I switch it back and it switches to input 2 again. I have to unplug everything and wait a few minutes to get it to work again. Are you on firmware 2.0? Are you using HDMI 2 (out)? HDMI 2 is the "main" output. I assume you are waiting at least 60 seconds after you manually shut down before rebooting..... Are you using VRO? What is your source? What 4K TV do you have? Sorry....just a few questions....hopefully someone else here can suggest other things to try.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DIRAC
I just wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of this...
I have spoken to at least two people who had accidentally selected the internal microphone on their computer by mistake.
When you look at the list of available microphones on your computer: - our microphone digitizer may show up as "C-Media headset", or as "UPNP microphone", or even as "USB microphone", or as something else. - our microphone may not be "the one on the left" as we showed it in the video.
- obviously, if you are using a third party microphone, like a UMIK, it will show up as something else. - likewise, if you're using a MacBook or a laptop, you probably have at least one internal microphone (possibly two). - and, even if you have a desktop computer, and no microphone, your sound card may have a microphone input that may be listed. Sometimes, if you choose the internal microphone by mistake, you will get a "too much background noise error"... However, it may also seem to work, but give you really poor results... (And nothing will stop you from selecting the calibration file - even if it doesn't go with the microphone.)
Different computers may show different names, but, on any given computer, our digitizer should always use the same name.
The easiest way to confirm that you have the correct microphone is to unplug the digitizer... (Whichever option disappears from the list of available microphones will be the digitizer.)

- HDMI 2
- Possibly not 60 seconds. I will do that from now on
- VRO, not exactly. I use the Zone 2 on method of keeping the system up
- Samsung QT6D?

Still happy though... will be happier when they make 2.0 more stable, but it sounds great and that is my main concern

4K seems to be the issue for me. Just spent 25 minutes trying to get my XMC-1 to turn on, and stay on input 1. It's so insistant on wanting to go to input 2, my non existant Roku (retired to bedroom) that I may just move my only input to input 2. Wish I had not gone 4K. 25 minuntes to try to get your system to turn on and stay on, with sound, that's just too much

Did the beta testers have all of these issues that we're seeing in FW2.0? I've been on 2.0 for 4 days and I can only use my Nvidia Shield that's connected directly to the RMC-1. I have an Atlona 4K HDMI matrix with an Apple TV, Roku and another Nvidia Shield and I can't get audio or video from it (just a silent black screen). They all worked just fine on FW1.10, except that trying to start the RMC-1 with any of these sources I would get a blue screen and no audio, forcing me to toggle inputs to get an HDMI lock. There have been no other changes to my system except upgrading from 1.10 to 2.0 and enabling Dirac.

The XMC input input being switched means it is almost certainly a CEC issue, with your TV trying to control your Processor check your CEC menu settings on the XMC-2. i use ARC successfully but have just volume checked so that the TV remote control the XMC-2 When audio is playing over ARC. The other options including power and input etc are all unchecked

I can't remember if it was 1.9 or 1.10.

With my HDMI lock woes, thankfully I use the dedicated directly connected Nvidia Shield for 90% of media in my theater room. Hope the next FW fixes it, but not holding my breath.

Can someone at Emotiva please let us know they are aware of some of the Firmware 2.0 issues and are working on getting it at least back to Firmware 1.10 level of stability? Yes, we are working on the audio drop, digging deep to figure out what Is going on. Lonnie
