I'm trying to do some sums on the viability of trade in given I live in Australia and have 2 lots of shipping and duty to pay. Can someone please tell me what the current US price for the XMC-2 is? Thanks to the clever Emo website it only shows me the current price in AUD and all the trade in prices and prices for the plus models are shown in USD.

Would be so awesome if ALLTECHS can work in with the upgrade program. The savings on postage, and missing another round of import taxes, would make this so much more attractive. Fingers crossed Emotiva can work something in with them if viable. Will be hard to get another upgrade past the boss, if it's going to be more high postage back to the USA, and another round of GST import tax/duties etc back here. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 I have reached out to Altechs via email and got a response that if Emo want to do something in Aus they would def be involved. So I have asked them to reach out to Emo and see what it would take to make it work. I didn't get the feeling that the guy responding was aware of the program. So @keithl can you ask someone in Emo to reach out to them as well and see what can be arranged? Or should I call Emo support and ask there? Thx I’d start by sending AllTechs a link to this thread (particularly the first two posts), and the Emotiva page describing the upgrade and new processors (it’s linked in the first post). That way they can start by reading and getting up to speed on what we know. Then, if they still have questions, or want to try and become a trade in agent, they have a good foundation for what the process and expectations are, and won’t waste time learning basic information when they do talk.

If Alltechs became a local distributor in Australia they may also need to take on the ownership of any consumer warranty rights, which in Australia are a little bit weird in terms of compelling the manufacturer to honor repair or replacement works beyond the manufacturer's warranty depending on the price of the product. EG Our consumer law states that if you pay say AUD $7,000 (this will be the approx cost to get an XMC-2+ here once released) for a piece of hi-fi equipment, it may be realistic to assume that said equipment should be expected to last longer than 5 years and so the manufacturer (or local distributor) would be compelled to repair or replace this free of charge and this is mandated in Australian consumer law.
Would Alltechs want to take that on? Doubt it. And probably the reason Emotiva pulled its local distribution from here a couple of years ago.
FYI, Most products that are offered for sale in Australia have shorter warranties for this reason. Case in point Marantz Cinema 30 Warranty in the US is 5 years, in Oz - 3 years.

We try to do a podcast once a month and I usually have the episode shot, edited, and posted within 24 hours. We are looking to add an additional podcast that is more audio, video, and gaming but that will be mostly the B team and more of a fun one rather than being news or product focus.

A bit disappointing that the next podcast isn't the one they will showcase actually using the + processor. It would have gone a long way to showcase a fully functional processor sooner than later to make us all more confident they are really going to meet their stated June release date. Waiting until May to show a functional unit makes me doubt that anyone will actually get one in June. By this point (and even months ago) I would hope they have several working units and are just working through software bugs/ finalizing a feature or two and, more than anything, waiting for enough inventory of all of the boards.

Markus I'm still not so optimistic - even they would present the + models there. Between presentation and availability was a huge gap the last time

And I answered that, not exactly official, someone told someone. Does not matter, gave up, ordered the AVM70 8K, be here tomorrow. The last update I read here was the end of 2023 for new Emotiva Processors, now I read hopefully summer 2024, since August 2023, I have been using the Anthem AVM 70 and I love it. I still need one more processor for a different room, since I like having different hardware , so I came back here to check, still nothing. But this is not just a Emotiva issues, processors seem to be a afterthought from the manufacturers, before Covid, we had Outlaw, Yamaha, Onkyo also making them, but now looks like that will no longer be happening. I really do not want a Receiver for that room, already own the monoblock amps, but once again, Anthem looks to be my only choice, do not like the Marantz units. But I need to get the room done, I just built the AV stand, seats are in the room, speakers are in there, display will be here tomorrow , I tried to wait and give Emotiva a try, first it was last summer, then late 2023, then hopefully sometime this summer, if I could get a definite date that is happening soon (July is the latest I will wait), I will hold off, if I do not see a response by end of day, I will order the Anthem AVM-90 tomorrow.. I tried to give Emotiva a chance twice now, I really did.

You can get any of the current processors now at reduced prices. Why wait if you’re so anxious?
