Finally got Rogue One blue ray, awesome, sounds spectacular. ...... A well crafted addition to the Star Wars saga. We just saw it as a regular DVD Netflix release. The audio was still excellent even without being a master audio mix. Blll

Last night, we watched "Extraordinary Measures." I normally don't care for the acting of either Brendon Fraser or Harrison Ford, but they did a good job with this one. The movie also got right the challenges & difficulties of bringing a new drug to market. Some challenges are financial, some are regulatory, and many are just simply cultural (as in the internal business and scientific culture of the drug companies). A good story! But before watching the above movie, we tried to watch "One for the Money" with Katherine Heigl. Got about five minutes into the movie, looked at each other, and said "nope." So the movie might have been better than its opening scenes suggested (I certainly hope so), but we wouldn't invest the time to find out. YMMV

Haven't watched it yet but I just bought Resident Evil Vendetta 4k ultra HD. Hope it sounds and looks as good as the pretty metal case it comes in!

Went to see Valarian today...
Eye candy everywhere. But if you've seen too many of the trailers, you'll be a bit frustrated at how much of the action you can anticipate. Still an amazing video accomplishment. This is one I'll buy on 4K when it comes out. Great fun!

Doctor Strange. First time watching a movie with TV speakers while I wait for an amp replacement. Yuck!
Movie was decent. It seems as I get older I become less and less interested in these type of movies - become bored really.

Saw the movie The Dark Tower at the IMAX movie theater. Non-stop, sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat action and suspense. Sound and visuals were excellent. Personally would put this movie in the same class of enjoyability as Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Left the theater rather spellbound. Will surely have to read the Stephen King novel this is based upon. Highly recommended movie. Of interesting note, the critics on Flixster gave this movie an 18% approval rating. Must be for the lack of the "romantic comedy" factor. Or maybe they thought all the gun play was "politically incorrect". Who knows? Was expecting the worst after the reviews - and got the best. Am thinking sometimes when the critics hate a movie - and viewers like it - it just might turn out to be special Walt

Three movies I have watched recently that I have enjoyed. Blow-Up (1966) This is a great British film. He takes a picture of a murder but does not find out until later. The Yardbirds with both Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck are in this movie but the style of this movie made it special. www.imdb.com/title/tt0060176/Play Dirty (1969) Desert War in North Africa during World War II with Michael Caine. Great war movie with an ending that will surprise you. www.imdb.com/title/tt0063443/A Good Year (2006) Russell Crowe inherits his uncle's chateau and vineyard. Albert Finney is his uncle. Money is not everything is the lessons learned in this movie. Very good movie ! www.imdb.com/title/tt0401445/
