Any suggestions where I connect my USP-1 to the DMR-1? Thanks.

Here is a diagram that I mocked up in anticipation of adding the USP-1 with my Denon and eventually a Emotiva processor. It shows the ERC, XPA-3 and USP-1. USP-1, ERC, XPA-3, Denon Diagram I would use the Main Audio Outputs and substitute the Denon in this diagram for your DMR.

Thanks for the reply sticks. Unfortunately, I do not have an external amp as of yet. A diagram showing erc-1, dmr-1, blu-ray, usp-1 and sub connections (single sub) would be greatly appreciated.

Call me crazy but I dont think you can connect the two and get a pure audio signal. The only thing you could do is connect the outs of the USP to the 7.1 in of the DMR but then you wouldnt get the pure analog signal you want from the USP. You would need an external amp.

Any suggestions where I connect my USP-1 to the DMR-1? Thanks. A couple of question: Why did you get a USP-1? What are you expecting it to do that the DMR isn't doing now? I'm trying to understand the setup.

You're correct sanjay..the Emo folks confirmed that a proper connection cannot be made. With regard to the setup, its sorta complicated. I will be getting a erc-1 as a X-mas present and I had a good opportunity to buy a brand new usp-1 from a neighbor friend, and having heard the erc-1, usp-1, xpa-2 setup at the Emofest, and looking to eventually adding external amps, xmc and a turntable, I bought the usp-1 a couple of days ago albeit out of sequence of acquisitions. (I'm starting to believe there is no finish line) I thought I would use the erc-1, usp-1 and the amp in the dmr bypassing the internal processor. The hope was to recreate the incredible SQ produced at the Emofest. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't been so impulsive but seeing the usp-1 unopened box sitting on the table, I had scoop it up. I suppose I should consider selling or trading the usp-1 for a X series amp and waiting on the xmc.

Sure the USP is a three channel out device, but there is no reason you could not just use the left and right plus sub inputs of the 7.1. Any thought of creating a separate two channel setup?

I'm hoping that you are right about the 7.1 analog input. I will try that. I have thought about a separate two channel setup but only since my dilemma with the usp-1. However, I'm not sure how feasible that would work out in terms of finances. If the usp-1/7.1 analog connection works, then great. If not, regretfully I think I may sell the usp-1 and work on getting an x-series amp and processor. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.
