My center sets upon a glass rack as you can see in my sig. Im thinking of getting the mopads and was also wondering if it would be usefull or make sense to put an accoustic panel or foam on the wall behind my center below the tv. I figure with the center being on glass Im getting alot of reflections. If the panel on the wall sounds like a good idea could I use something cheap like those foam egg crates and just paint them black? Im just trying to tweak every little bit out of my system I can since im off on disability.

Don't think it would hurt. Someone posted that they had good luck with carpet padding. There are companies that make smaller panels that would work well for this. They happen to be black too.

I am not sure how well cork panels perform when compared with commercial sound panels, but I have know users who employed them, very successfully. Cork is easy to work with and is inexpensive. If you have a hobby shop nearby, you might want to give that a try.

Since its front ported, just pull the speaker to the front edge of the glass as far as possible. I used appliance anti-vibration pads to get my center off my glass stand. Do this and you will be fine. Also if possible try moving your front left and right speaker apart a little more as it will help expand your soundstage.

I moved my center to the very front. and moved my towers apart as far as I can. For now I just have a black towell under the speaker. Also someone mentioned my center is ported on the front but it also has 2 pors on the back they call power ports or bass ports I think. Thats why I was thinking about foam or some treatment behind the center on the wall. I still think I want the mopads because I want me speaker lifted s few inches. Unless someone has a cheaper idea that wont look bad.

I made my center channel stand with a small slab of granite that I got for free and put a couple of hockey pucks under it.

Also does anyone think since my center is on glass and has 2 rear ports on the back. one for each midrange speaker. Would I maybe benefit from an acoustic panel on the wall, especially with my center setting on glass. Maybe Ill try the foam egg crate stuff, paint it black and try it out. It cant hurt the sound I wouldnt think.

I have a total of $5 invested in this stand. The granite was FREE, hockey pucks were $2 each and I have some poster tack that is isolating the speaker from the granite $1.

I got some accoustic foam 7 of the 12"by 12" peices. and 2 fit perfect uner my center to exact dinensions. I also put 2 behind which was perfect since my rack is 24" deep. then I put 2 on the wall under my tv and one under my luttle sub. I paid like 49 for all peices shipped. It made a big difference in the center sound. So no mopads for me. This was a way better option. I will try to post pics when im not drinking.

www.viablue.de/com/absorber_tri_black.shtmlI use these for my center channel speaker. Just two for the front end for angle control. They are $15.00 each so that might not fly for some of you, but they do the job and they look good. They come in silver, also. They raise the front end ~ one inch and are adjustable.

Yeah it does. lol ;D But it did help with the sound. Even after running the MCACC on my elite it shows a flatter response plus the male voices seem to sound better. Money for results I say this was a good investment.
