Need help on deciding on new Sub woofer: SVS PB-12-Plus Rythmik-D15-SE SIG. ED. Elemental Designs A-7-450 Epik- New Subs in January or Emotiva new line of SUBS. These are all in the same price range of up to $1,000.I listen to 50% Music and 50% Movies and like the sound pretty load.I have Definitive Mythos ST with 300 WT. sub in each speaker but need more Bass and lower Bass.I am not going to buy new speakers for more Bass but buy a new sub. Any response would be appreciated.

Bruce - I'm not sure when you're making your decision but I plan on traveling to Austin one Saturday in january to audition the Rythmik D15SE in person. I've heard a lot of good things about this sub (among several) and its within driving distance for me. I would rather have peace of mind that I've heard a sub of this size before I experiement as shipping back can be costly. If this time frame works for you, I will send you my findings.
That said, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in the new subs from Emotiva. No plans at the moment to purchase and audition one but who knows. Christmas drained most of my audio funds so even the Rythmik may be a few months or so but I for sure I want to listen to this model sooner rather than later.
BTW, the eD A750 is alos on my short list.

Bruce, I was also hoping for an early release on the Emotiva top line subs. I decided to pull the plug back in August, after a discussion with Lonnie, whereby he had informed me that his subs, may not be ready by the end of this year. Anyway, if you are not familiar, I decided to build an eD Dual 13Av.2 DIY, which is their kit version of the A7s-650. I had originally been pointed in the direction of the A7s-450 but went for the kit, for a mere few hundred $$$ more than the 450. I have not regretted that decision. You can see my documentation of that build here......... emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=diy&action=display&thread=6368&page=1

Rather, I'd be very interested in your review of the Rythmik D15SE. I've also heard good things about their subs.

Although i will most likely be doing one of their smaller subs (F12) so i will have enough budget left over for a turntable

Nice sub at that price too bad it's so huge will stick out for sure in my living room. $130 shipping for that monster.

The SVS PC13-Ultra is fantastic for movies, but I will not go out on the limb and say it is a musical sub. I cannot speak for the rest of the SVS line, but have heard many a good thing from the other manufacturers you are looking at. I think I would lean toward Rythmik, but just from what I have read.
Myself, owning a set of Emo 8.3's, I am waiting very patiently for the new Emo subs. If they are half of what my 8.3's are in regards to bass, I will buy one and stick it across the room from my SVS, for the best of both worlds...

Maybe run the SVS for LFE only and the Emotivas for the rest? Otherwise I think the balance might be odd or you will have some fun blending everything perhaps?

My experience with my Epiks..... has been wonderful. I have a pair of these DyNasties, and even ONE is incredible. They are built like a tank, perform with complete ease and no chuffing, huffing or distortion. Just CLEAN and INTENSE visceral base when ever its called on to do so. I seldom run them near what they are capable of.....Amps on them run cool to touch. ;D By far the best decision I have made as it pertains to Subs. I considered the AVS at first, found too many derogartory reviews and problems on line with customers. I was going to get the Elemental Designs A7900 but at 450 pounds and the size of an ice box, it was just too big. After consideral reading and research, I decided on the Epiks. Never regretted it. I certainly would have considered the Emo subs had they been more than a working prototype, as you can see I am an ardent Emo fan. I did not feel like waiting another extended period for a product as I am still waiting on the elusive UMC1 that has already started "ahem" shipping...

Nemesis, Rhythmik does offer a professional version with balanced inputs. Unless I'm not understanding what you're looking for. Here's a link to Rythmik's site: www.rythmikaudio.com/F15_features.html

Rather I would be interested in your impressions of the rythmik D15SE as well. In addition Bigred I would be interested in your thoughts on the F12. I am interested in rythmik subs and eD has gret models as well. These are on my short list.

For smaller to medium sized rooms the F12 is great. The only thing it lacks is the output of larger subs. If you need more output then I recommend the F15, dual F12's or dual F15's for larger rooms or those just just want their head put through the back wall.
