Oh . . BTW, I've invited Brian to comment on the thread so I know he's going to be mildly upset we posted pics of his set up with what he calls a mess. Personally, I think of him as a mad genius without the down side . . . No worries, Brian and apologies in advance. . .

Wow, great write up rather. I've been wondering a lot about the Rythmik's. It might just be my next sub/s. I think two D15SE's would be ideal for me. The only problem is that pretty soon, my HT will no longer be used for music, as I'm building a separate 2 channel system in a different room. Do you think two D15s would be better than my 4 Outlaw LFM-1 plus subs for movies, or should I just stick with the Outlaws?

Hey Rather and Pitbullmike,
Since you heard Ascend Acoustics speakers with the Rythmik sub, what do you think about these speakers?

PapaJac, like I kind of said above I'm building a 2/3 channel setup in a different room, so I moved my "good" front three speakers in there. Which meant I had to replace them in my HT. I decided to buy the CMT-340SE for my LCR. Let me tell you, these things are incredible, and not just "for the money" They are some of the best speakers I've heard for HT. Like I said, I don't use my HT for music anymore, so I have not tried them with music. But I would have to think that they would be very good for music as well. Music is the most important thing to me, with movies a distant second. So I figured I wouldn't spend too much on my new HT speakers. But they perform like they cost many times more IMHO. Have I heard better? Sure. But for much more money. I'm not very good at describing how a speaker sounds, so I'll let rather and pitbull do that, but I can tell you that they are very very neutral. The only time that they can get a little harsh, is at ear bleeding levels. Other than that, they just pump out nice clean and clear sound. They actually come closer to my PSB's than I thought they would.

By the way....Iron Maiden ROCKS! I've seen them live, I think, eight times. Awesome live band. They sound fantastic and put on a great show every time. Seven times for me and counting ;D

He bought a pair of Salk's that he's wanted for a while, so he pretty much gave the PSB's to me. He said I just have to buy him a sub when he's ready for it lol. One hell of a deal lol

I'm in a similar state. In September, my dental coverage is going to end. The dentist, (Dr. Stereo) said I could build him a sub (like mine) to cover my dental costs for about one year. ;D

Iron Maiden kicks ass, I was always into heavy metal in my younger days but never got into them until just recently. Fear of the dark is my fav song!
That is an awesome sub makes me want to spend more money....ugh more money

Agreed, except for the most recent concert I went to (about 3 years ago) when they were in "The Point" in Dublin and the sound was awful - we left after 15 mins. Why oh why do they have to have everything so loud that the amps are clipping and you can't hear the music. (Plus the acoustics in that place suck, ringing, reverb, muddy sound etc.). That sucks! I've never heard anyone say that one of their concerts sounded horrible. What a waste of money and time. Yup - and the tickets here are NOT cheap. I've been at other ones (including outside) that were great.

Hey Rather and Pitbullmike, Since you heard Ascend Acoustics speakers with the Rythmik sub, what do you think about these speakers? This is a hard one to give useful information. The Ayre CD player was so revealing and astonishingly detailed that it made the high end on the AA speakers seem a little dry and bright. However, these speakers worked wonderfully with the Rythmik sub, no question. I just think they are not matched well with the source component. All that said, for the money, these are absurdly low priced and warrant further investigation. Last, I think proper stands are a must for these speakers (as well as a sub, of course) to make them shine.

Yep, I just picked one up myself( A D15SE )after installing a few of these. Cannot wait to get my grubby hands on it. Will be picking up a 2nd one when the tax return comes in. Such a great bang for the buck. Ive never heard such clean bass for the money. It's about time ntrain! ;D You've been talking these subs up for a while now, and you obviously love their sound. Congrats!
