My room is 16'x15 with 8 or 9 foot ceilings. I've got 3 6.2s up front and am wondering what's a good subwoofer match....I have a spot for 2, but none of the physical dimensions can be larger than 20" so I figured it would have to be sealed.
Any thoughts?
I've been waiting on SVS to stock back up, or Emotiva to release....maybe a Rythmik F12? What about a F15? Is that overkill in my room?
Anyway, just wanted to get some thoughts here as I'm sure some of you on this forum have my speakers.

I'm running a set of 6.2's with a SVS SB12-plus. It is a very good match I think.

Nice! How big is your room? Does it have good impact for movies?
I guess I should mention this is for a dedicated theater for 100% movies/TV/Games.
The SB12-Plus was tops on my list, but when I went to order they were out of stock and now am on hold for a SB12-NSD since the Plus is discontinued. They said some time in the spring, but patience isn't my best virtue....

A big sub in a small room isn't necessarily overkill. You can always turn the sub down, but if you need more, you can't always turn it up past it's limits. I have a 17 x 12 x 7 room and use an eD A7s-650. It's 16 x 16 inches square and 38 inches tall, with two 13 inch drivers and 1300 watts. It rocks substantially, and I keep it trimmed down. But it will shake the place when I want it to.

A rythmik F15 would be an excellent match(it is with anything as its VERY musical and accurate)for that room, and you will get unparallel'd bass response and accuracy, you will not have any problem getting a seamless blend into those 6.2's........

You don't want to fly solo with the F15... because you need a wing man! Seriously though, generally 2 subs are better than 1 and tend to offer a more solid punch.

That should do very nicely for the size of your room. Plus it will help in a much better overall balance too (nulls & peaks). And sorry, I don't know enough about Emotiva subs. But I do know that two subs is always better than one. Makes any sense to you?

There is no such thing as too many subs. Multiple subs gives you many benefits, one very big one means lower potential distortion(your input gains will be set much lower), with greater fs extension and smoother response.

For those using 2 subs up front, someone mentioned to me about having them in the front corners facing each other.
Is their an advantage to that?

Richard Hardesty (Mr. Boom), the sub expert, from Widescreen Review, when he was contributing there. ...But facing into the room though, not each other.

For those with 6.2s for your fronts, are you crossing them over at 80 hz?

For those with 6.2s for your fronts, are you crossing them over at 80 hz? Yes. Even if my two front mains are totally flat down to 25 Hz. Same for my center speaker (x also at 80 Hz), which is flat down to 40 Hz, and only minus 3 db at 35 Hz. And same for all my four surround speakers. But that x-over selection of 80 Hz is made from my receiver. My actual x-overs of my two subs are set to their highest point, or "Bypass" if available. Of course I used the subwoofer output with a Y adaptor for my connections.

Thanks for the input everyone!
Apparently its a bad time to be in the market for a subwoofer, let alone dual.
Rythmik F12...not available for 4 weeks. Rythmik F15...not available for 6 weeks. Epik only is making the empire, which I don't have room for. SVS new SB subs aren't available until "Spring" Emotiva aren't available until the "future"
Lame!

The only time I would have 2 subs facing each other, is if they are placed opposing each other on the side walls, or if you put one in the back, and one in the front.
