I wonder how long before Skiing Ninja will be out with an after market crossover for them?

Wow, those things have drivers all over the place. I can't imagine ever being in a position to buy $200,000 speakers, but I could see there being a (small) market for them. Mark.

I don't think I would spend that much money on speakers if I was a billionaire. I just have a hard time justifying that amount of coin for speakers. I'd like to compare those speakers to a pair of RBH T-3/R modular speakers. www.rbhsound.com/t3r.shtmlI guess it's all about what you like and what you're willing to spend.

Those things are fugly. Besides that they probably cost only a a couple thousand dollars each to build. Can you say rip-off!! I'll stick with my 30 year old HPM-100's until I see what the new Emo speakers have to offer. The crossover have their own "hermetically sealed chamber". Is that really necessary or just a way to jack up the price? Let's get real folks. Ok, I'm done now.

In answer to the OP's question, my wife says to tell you, "No, he will not."

actually, there are a lot of more expensive speakers out there. for instance, here's one for only 2 MILLION DOLLARS (say that in a dr. evil voice). www.higherfi.com/spkrlist/speakerlist.htmi find it a lot less silly to spend 200 large on speakers than 50K on speaker cables though. gotta remember, the people that buy these things probably aren't looking at the price tag to start with. although i did read a kind of sad story in an audiogon forum about a music lover and his music loving wife that after they retired took out a second mortgage on their house to buy a pair of wilson Maxx's.

twochannel, I'll bet if you ask again real nice........... a promise her something of equal value ;D I hadn't thought of that. I'm gonna try it . . . . . she said "No." Actually, it was, "%@ NO!!!!" She said a few other things too, but she was reaching for the paddle and I was running, so I'm not sure what-all they were.

Well they're large enough that they could be used as coffins so after you bought them and your wife killed you, she already has your coffin.
And a real nice center speaker since she now only has one speaker left!! ;D

"...an imposing tower over 6.5 feet tall and weighing about 500 pounds, due in part to the cabinet's resonance-damping construction with walls up to 5 inches thick. " Wow. Salk uses 3/4" - 1" walls I believe. At 5 inches, I think we are solidly into the realm of overkill. Mark.
