I finally got my USP connecte to 2 XPAs with Carver Amazing platinum. BAT CD player, TEAC old school Reel to Reel and turntable. All I can say is WOW! Large sound stage, smooth detailed mids and highs. There is deep base. I only have about 3 hours on the preamp-amp combo. I expect it will open up more after about 50 hours. I am replacing my old proceed PAV. The wife is very happy with the setup. Nora Jones, Eagles, Joss stone, blues and jazz all sound very well. The Teac sounds like tubes. Overall excellent buy. More later.

I heard those Carver Amazings years ago at a local dealer. They really are amazing.

I had Carvers many years ago....they were probably the most underestimated speaker systems of all time. Few people ever heard a pair in a room suitable for them and they really benefited from the best electronics. It's a shame they are no longer made as their continued evolution would have made for a awesome speaker today.

Carver amazings are a great speaker, however room placement is often a common problem with them. I was looking into a pair locally however due to the room placement they wouldn't have had the proper room to function so wasn't able to get them. Carver AL-III are also a great speaker, and I found that they can have a little more leeway in terms of set up than the amazings. I know a person that have the AL-III's in a room up against the back walls and side walls with only about 5 ft apart and they still sound good (not as good as they could however).
