I think without Emotiva I'd be using my Denon until it quit on me. It will have a market though and I'm guessing it's a nice unit.

Did I missed a post here? Perhaps already deleted? * Or is it because of the title of my thread with the thumb down in relation to the excessive price when compared to other products like Emotiva (UMC-1) which has much in performance but for four times less the price?! Hey, do what you have to do & keep typing those posts that are part of your notes accompanying your avatar. You seem to be confused, I'm not. I'm just saying with respect.

Hey, do what you have to do & keep typing those posts that are part of your notes accompanying your avatar. You seem to be confused, I'm not. I'm just saying with respect. Not confused at all. It is pretty obvious that Sherbourn is a customer of Emotiva's parent company. (as suggested from the article and internal pictures) Your title slams Sherbourn as making a product that is over priced compared to other Emotiva products. Emotiva can't comment on this because of business arrangements with Sherbourn. I will also quote Big Dan about rule #3. 3. Be nice to each other and respect the moderators. Profanity, insults, knocking other brands, and generally rude behavior will not be tolerated. Period. Opinions are welcome, not bad behavior. So maybe consider just changing the title? I'm not a moderator so you can feel free to take this as another "useless post" from me.

Any idea when this manual will be updated? I thought they were adding more to it, and revising some parts. What is taking so long?

Please, that so-called manual is so bare-bones it's ridiculous. In scanning Sherbourn's version, I thought they had more info than Emo's but I was wrong. Oh well.

Mark, which Denon do you have? * Never tought of putting your favorite gear in your sig? 2808 listing my gear has never been my thing. I do know that when you ask questions it can be useful to other though. You know, for a while, I felt the same way about listing my equipment. I never wanted people to think I was bragging about my system, or that my system was inferior to others. But after seeing how 99% of all members here are very cool and open about things, I decided it was a good thing to do. You're right Mike. Listing your equipment makes answering your questions much easier for other members, and puts comments about anything in your system in proper context. I can't think of a single time that anyone at this forum took a shot at, or insulted anyone for the gear they use. It's all fun, and it's about making your own system better if you can.

Sadly, it has happened. But I'm not about to go and dig up links to it. Overall, you're correct, though. The only times that sort of thing does happen, the person taking a shot at someone is usually just embarrassing themselves. We all like different things, and we all have different budgets. That's why we have so many choices. And that is A LOT of the fun of it, isn't it? I have bought some ridiculously expensive crap and some really cheap stuff. At one time or another, I appreciated all of it for what it was and how it suited my purpose in life.

Done. I did reconsider your suggestion. But in no way was my intention to "knock" Sherbourn the company, only the price comparison with the UMC-1, which is totally respectable. But you knew that. Anyhow, I thing we're good now.
