Rack ears, they are here!

Yes for all of you with racks or planning on putting your gear in racks, we now have the rack ears you need.

They will attach to all the existing gear.

They all have billet trim on the front to match the gear and full support of the gear all the way back (unlike so many other ears out there).

There are three different models depending on what you have.

URS-2 for the ERC, UMC, USP, etc.
URL-2 for the UPA-1 and UPA-2
URE-4 for all the amplifiers.

So what do they cost? Drum Roll please................39.00 (introductory price) for the 2RU and 49.00 (introductory price) for the 4RU.

Are you ordering them?
I like the idea, but functionally don't need them and cosmetically based on amp placement in my HT Middle Atlantic rack, I don't think anyone other than me would notice them.
Still cogitating...

thinking about it. My Onkyo Pre/Pro is rack mounted so I may do it for heat reasons, one lest obstacle in the way for air flow.

Just what I needed, I'll be ordering 4 sets

I now have my XP3 on a MA custom shelf with the other amps setting on top with fake ears for looks....

Maybe I'm being dense or something, but these didn't fit my MA rack, did I forget to get something? Also my XPA-5's face plate is apparently not perfectly even so it's flush on one side but pushes the ear out on the other. After battling this into place I felt silly for my checking fit before hand, I was super bummed because I marred my rack in the process. Made me want to throw my rack ears straight into my amp out of frustration. Now I'm stuck getting my rack touched up (going to be a pain since it's powder coated) and with rack ears that don't fit the damn thing. I can't say how displeased I am.

Anyone want my pair, not sure if these go back as easily as the rest of the gear?

Skiingmonkey, you're not the only one having problems. I bought the rack ears for my UMC-1 and UPA-5 for installation into my Middle Atlantic AXS rack and the holes simply do not line up.

I called Emotiva and talked to Vince. He suggested that maybe the rack rails were off. I told him this was not a case of just being off by a fraction. He said their rack ears are made to EIA standard hole spacing, so I did a little research on what those dimensions are. When compared to the hole spacing on the Emotiva ears, the dimensions don't appear to even be close.

I think someone screwed up the design big time. Now I'm just trying to decide whether or not to drill new holes in my rack rails or return the ears and wait who knows how long for them to correct the problem.

Regardless, I'd love to hear from someone who has installed these in their rack with no problems. I'm more than willing to admit that I'm doing something wrong.

P.S Sorry my first post is a complaint. I've had my Emo gear for a few months now and think it is by far the best stuff I've owned at even double the price. I've been trolling this forum for much longer but, until now, didn't have much to add to the discussions.

I have a MA with RSH plate, but figured I'd need some breathing space above the amp anyway.

I also checked my rack ears and the EIA spacing has nothing in common with the gap between the holes on each ear. There's something definitely wrong with these....I'm bummed because my rack is marred, my gear won't fit, and I have to ship stuff back to Tennessee.

They do look great....
