I think either an Empire or the Rhythmik would be excellent choices. I haven't heard the Rhythmik but am VERY happy with the Empire. Mine doubles as a printer stand:

I agree with you Mike, they look nice. For certain extension I think women got the point about audiogears. and there is nothing wrong if audio/video not just sounds great but looks great as well. BTW after dozens of different sub auditionings I tend to prefer powerful subs with opposite firing drivers. To my ears they not just sound great they have kinda three dimensional bass, something which makes illusion that source of sound (drums etc.) located in the room.

I like the oak! Did you buy or build? Thanks. The desk pieces are overpriced Stickley furniture. I built the corner computer shelf to match as close as possible.

Thoughts anyone? DIY? My neighbor has a woodshop... I can fit maybe 36"x24"x24"! And here I thought she'd like two smaller ones better, lol. Has there ever been a cooler case of WAF? I love my wife. If you want to do a DIY and end up with a sub that retails for almost $2000 at just above half that price, I would suggest doing what I did. Build an eD Dual 13AV.2 DIY. It is all pre-cut and easy to assemble. If I can do it, anyone can!!! And it's 16 x 16 x 38 tall. Here's the link. www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_136&products_id=849And here's mine....naked.... Dressed There's a complete thread with photos of my build in the DIY threads, if you think it will help your decision.

Wow!
I read through that entire thread. Looks like a lot of work! A lot of fun too. Like I said, my next door neighbor has a woodshop. I'll bet he'd get off on helping me build a sub like that monster. He mentioned curiosity about HT. I told him not to mess with the HTIB stuff. And that a good setup would cost some money, lol. He already has a 60" plasma on his wall.
Hmm...
I'll bet I can get him hooked, even with just listening to my budget PSB's, lol.
Thanks Animo!
One of these days, I gotta get to Brooklyn, just to hear that system of yours. You gotta love speakers that are bigger than the closets! ;D

Looks nice doingOK. One thing though, the way you have that cabled tired up, I was told not to. I could be wrong but was told it creates a coil effect. I had a Amiga with a Genlock eons ago. Plugged in a long video cable but left most of it wrapped up. Blew up the genlock. Was told it was having the cable still coiled up caused it. Have seen extension cables, vacuum cleaners with warnings to not use while still coiled up. Might only apply to power cables, not sure.

Velodyne Digital Drive 1812 Signature Series ;D Two way subwoofer, bi-amplified with two 1250W RMS amplifiers
Seriously, if you have attic space and are handy, you could consider an Infinite Baffel sub. Then there would be no ugly boxes in the room, and you could install as many drivers as your hearts desire where they would be heard, and not seen!

I can't reccomend one of these enough, I have the HV/S - 12 and have heard nothing that bests it. Truly dissappears until called upon! Look up Source Technologies HV/S-8/300 35 Hz - 120 Hz 300 W 17" h x 10" w x 14" d
HV/S-10/400 30 Hz - 120 Hz 400 W 19" h x 14" w x 15.5"d
