Oh yeah, back to the original topic! I would take advantage of this crazy sale and get a pair of Ultra 12s. I would run them both for LFE and redirected bass, crossed at 80 HZ. I currently run 4 subs, I tried dedicated subs but prefer running them all as true subs now. I have two up front flanking my 8.3 towers, and 2 behind my listening position for a more tactile response. All my speakers are crossed at 80hz, the sub response is great!

I'm with the Pool-boy on both his posts. Not that I wouldn't add some 6.2s/6.3s for surrounds if I had the room/budget.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. People brought up a bunch of different topics. Let's see if I can touch on everything that was brought up. While I think I would like to try dedicated subs in the future, for now I am just going to run the subs for LFE and redirected bass. Now I need to decide if I want to upgrade my sub and what to go with. Right now I may first get the UMC and maybe an eq and see what I can do with my current PB10. I just started playing with REW and so far it looks like the PB10 is reaching down to around 18hz. Then see if I want to get another PB10 or go with a single/dual Epiks or Rythmiks or maybe even a submersive. I was looking to get 5 6.2s for two main reasons. First, I just like the idea of having identical speakers all around so there is no sound differences moving from the front speakers to the surround speakers. At times I also like to listen to music in multi channel stereo and I think the 6.2s would work better in this. Second, is the shape of my room. This is going to be confusing, but there is no wall on the right side of my room that is perpendicular to the listening position to easily place the speaker. It opens to the kitchen, the 2nd floor and basement stairs and a short hall to the dining room and foyer. There is a wall that is parallel to the listening position. The side of my right surround speaker is currently against this wall. I know this is not ideal, but I thought the 6.2 would be better in this position than the ERD. I may take the suggestion and try both the 6.2 and ERD in different positions and see what I like best.

It is quite common in modern floor plans for the main room to open up into the kitchen. I know several of us here are working with that situation. I think your taking the right approach by trying a couple of different speakers in different locations to see what results you get. That is really the only and best way to tell what works in your system and sounds good to your ears. I think I speaker for everyone when I say, post pics when you get it all up and running
