I'm considering a pair of the new UOM 6.2 Outdoor Speakers and was wondering if there are any owners that can share their impressions of them so far -- how they sound, how they compare to other outdoor or bookshelf speakers? I know there are one or two posts but would still like additional information/feedback.

I had a pair delivered last week, but I haven't had a chance to install them yet. I might have time tonight and will let you know.

I finally had a chance to install my UOM 6.2 outdoor speakers last night. First off they seem very well made and the brackets seem sturdy enough. I replaced a pair of Parts Express outdoor speakers that were similar in driver and enclosure size as the UOM 6.2s. I was always disappointed with Parts Express speakers lack of bass.
I did a brief listen to 192k streaming music from the Internet (radioparadise.com) and I have to say I was impressed with the sound. Very good bass, midrange and treble. I am pleased so far.
Tonight I hope to do some more critical listening with better source material.
I will let you know.

Sorry for the delay on the review, I have been busier then usual lately. I listened to several Cd's and some lossless audio from my iPod over the weekend. I must say these speakers sound pretty incredible. They handle the acoustic challenges of the outdoors very well. I have mine hanging under the roof overhang above my deck and patio and fills the entire area with good quality sound. Probably a little too good for the neighbors! Oh well.
Also, I am driving them with an old 100 watt JVC receiver in my garage. I am sure with better quality electronics they would sound even better.
I think for the price you cannot go wrong with these speakers.
Hope this helps.

I have had my speakers since they were first released a few weeks ago. I have them mounted on a wall about 9' high with them on their side and tilted down toward our outdoor table.
I would have listened to them for 30 to 50 hours playing lossless music from iPod>Wadia>UMC-1>UPA-2>speakers.
These speakers are dull to listen to. The highs a very subdued and the bass is overdone. Because of this unique sound reproduction I find it very hard to make a judgement on the mids. Maybe they are hidden in there somewhere.
I was hoping these speakers would have excellent sound quality like every other Emotiva product I own. Unfortunately according to my ears the outdoor speakers have been disappointing. I don't write this easily, I have waited till now to write this negative report as I hope they would improve over time. They don't seem to be improving at all.
I will keep them for now as I want to spend my money on an XDA-1 next but will consider other speakers later in the year. I won't send them back either as I'm in Australia.
Well that's my impression, Dave.

You will always get differing opinions on speakers. Let your ears be the judge.
Emotiva has a no questions asked 30 day return policy. All it will cost you is return shipping. You can always send them back if you don't like them.

Just put them up this morning. Big improvement over the B&W Rock Solids I had before. Some of that improvement might be due to the degradation of the old speakers due to 14 years of weather. Plan on covering these in November for the wet season. But to my ear, very nice full sound with decent bass. I'm happy.

I noticed that there is about 3 or 4 other companys marketing outdoor speakers thet look very similuar to the Emotiva's. It almost looks like they all come from the same source, just re-badged. I was very close on buying them at the sale price, but found a great deal on a pair of 8" Sonance Mariners on ebay...

I purchased the UOM 6.2 for our 5th Wheel Travel trailer. I installed them in the side storage compartment of the trailer. When we are listening to music I just open the lift door and we're ready to rock.
My wife and I have been thrilled with them and so have quite a few other campers. Some others though are not happy as I get carried away sometimes and crank it up a little to loud.
The UOM's are the cleanest sounding outdoor speakers I have ever owned. Bass is tight, & vocals are crisp and clear.

I was asked to recommend some outdoor speakers, and I thought about Emotiva. I'd love to hear more impressions or reviews on these!

I have a pair in my 3 season porch which I drive with a Sonos ZP120 amp and mated to a Velodyne Impact Mini.
Quite frankly, I think they sound great. Detailed, not brittle or harsh sounding, decent bass (using sub, but even with out it they are ok in the bass department).
More than adequate for outdoors, garage etc..
