Will the new XMC be made by Tonwinner like the UMC?

I must have missed the joke. Is that a yes or a no? I read "yes". (just like Bill did) Is there anything else you need to know?

I must have missed the joke. Is that a yes or a no? There seems to be a group of folks in the online world that believe there's some sort of major conspiracy going on here. Emotiva, like the rest of the world, has manufacturers build products for them. This conspiracy group believes this is evil, only on Emotiva's part, though, it's ok for everyone else. So, they have 'called out' Emotiva, and 'proven' that Emotiva is using 3rd-party manufacturing companies, just like Emotiva has said they've been doing all along. Having exposed the truth that Emotiva admits to, the folks at Emotiva have no choice but to 'own up' and admit to the truth they have already publicly disclosed. Now, the truth is out. Emotiva can no longer cover up the truth that they haven't been trying to cover up. Everyone knows, despite Emotiva's best efforts to make it clear in the first place. There you have it. Lonnie admits to all the truths he and Dan have been admitting to all along. The conspiracy is finally uncovered, unveiled for the world to see.

I fully agree with Bill...it's the way things are designed and built these days....You hire someone to design a product (or you design it yourself), you hire someone to build the product and then you brand it and sell it. In some cases, you buy a generic product, make some changes (or not), put on a unique label or faceplate and then market it. Nothing wrong with that...it's a very efficient business model.
I am more interested in what will be carried over from the UMC-1 and I've started another thread to discuss that question....and where folks can ask technical/design questions.
Labor practices in China, who owns or invests in Tonewinner, who does the design for boxes that Tonewinner builds; who writes the building blocks used to build the software, who else tonewinner sells OEM boxes to don't really don't have an impact on the technical merits of the box that Emotiva will sell and support, which they will call the XMC. They're interesting topics...but let's try to keep them in a separate thread per LC's sticky post about the forums.

Yes, that is the way most of the world works. But if you have been on this forum for a long time you will recall that there were a number of posts that suggested that Big Dan owned or had an equity interest in the company that built these units in China. I don't recall that those suggestions were ever disputed (or corrected) by Emotivia so I guess that some here just came to believe that was fact. I guess we still don't really know the relationship between Big Dan and Tonewinner. It probably doesn't matter except to the extent that Big Dan has leverage to get changes/improvements made in a timely manner.

And how do you know that Big Dan does not own or have interest in the manufacturing entity known as Tonewinner? It was said over and over that Emotiva is a house brand name... My company owns and controls two manufacturing entities in China, neither of which use our company's name. Nor indeed do the two use the same names...

I must have missed the joke. Is that a yes or a no? I read "yes". (just like Bill did) Is there anything else you need to know? Well I am not so sure about that. Is that one of those yes answers that really means yes or does it mean no or does it mean yes it is no or no it is yes or exactly just what does it mean? I think we have another instance of Emotiva not being straight with us and giving us the runaround. Lonnie should clarify, just what exactly does "yes" mean.

I truly believe that if someone posted "it's blue", several of the active members here would start a discussion on whether the b in blue should be capitalized and we would have two pages of discussion on that point including a discourse on the fact that the original poster should have been more specific as to what color blue he was refering to.
I still believe my post #13 was correct. A simple question was asked....and it was answered with a single word. We now have two pages of posts, including this one, that are not even tangentially related to the original question/topic.
Where is our moderator who just yesterday told us he was removing this type of banter so we could concentrate on topics which is the purpose of this forum. Yes...TOPICS....as a reminder, that's the stuff in bolder black on top of this and every post and in the index.
And I readily admit that this post should be removed along with every post since post #2 in this topic.

I just had one question and I got the answer with lots of verbal diarrhoea.
My other question is: If Emotiva made an effort to release a full working product, I wouldn't mind paying more it. Before releasing a new machine, time and money would be better spent fixing the massive problems of the current product?

I won't be deleting this thread nor have I ever deleted any other thread unless it was a double up. I have however deleted the way off postings. I sense that some of the members see a gray area and want more of a clarification, therefore I won't be "locking" this thread either. Personally I read some sarcasm into Lonnie's response.

Please excuse my ignorance but does the ;D mean something? Cheers, Dave. I may have worked it out, I am using the proboards iPhone app and the ;D may just be a smiley face? Could I be right?

To explain my above posts, on the iPhone app it does not show any smiley faces. I could only see a ; and a D side by side. When I asked about this I see the ; and D but you see a smiley if you are on a computer.
Hope that makes sense.

Before releasing a new machine, time and money would be better spent fixing the massive problems of the current product? You are stating that a full working product would be worth more money to you and that emotiva should spend more time fixing the umc-1 before releasing the xmc-1. What if Emotiva is NOT expending effort to release the product? Doesn't the title of the thread ask the question whether or not Tonewinner is making the product and the answer from Lonnie is that yes they are? So what makes you think that Emotiva has anything to do with stabilizing the UMC-1? I'm left to believe that Emotiva is working on ToneWinners timetable. I could be wrong and this is completely IMO.
