I read thru the owners manual and it wasn't very clear [at least to me] in terms as what exactly the meter lights do. I see that there are status lights and the meter lights, so does the meter lights tell you when your clipping?
I find this to be a useful feature that a lot of amp manufacturers do not include.

The XPA-5 does not have this feature. The lights come on to tell you that the channel is on and opperational. Only the XPA-1 and XPA-2 have this features.
Future amps will have this feature like the XPR-7.

I hope this is a rhetorical question. If you need an indication that your speakers are clipping with a 200 wpc amp then you are either REALLY over driving them and need different (more efficient) speakers or need to CHILL. I would have ear bleed before my speakers 'clipped'.
