Hey All,
So I just realized that the cabinet I had built for my AV equipment may not be able to hold XPA's. UPA's may even be tight. I sized it before I had heard of Emotiva and based it on my Onkyo. Oops. Long story short, my cabinet is only exactly 19" deep. I see that the XPA's are listed as 19". Wondering if that includes binding posts, or just the chasis? Also, does the height include the feet, or just the chasis?
I can probably make UPA's work, but wanted at least an XPA for my hungry Martin Logan mains.
Thanks!

Is the back closed? If so, can you just open the back so the depth won't matter?

It's actually built into a bar, so it would stick out the back if I cut a hole.

Just measured my XPA-2. 18" D, 7" H, 17" W that is just the "box", it does NOT include feet or binding posts.

Even if the XPA-1 physically fits, please do not forget about cooling.
XPA-1s don't run any hotter than similar amps, but if you're packing it in tight it's even more important that it gets good airflow. You might very well have to add a fan or two to your cabinet to keep things OK.

Thanks all. Kidchewie and Chuckienut seem to disagree. Either way I'll have to make a slight hole since I miss measured and it's 18.75 deep, or just do UPA 1/2's (though I only have 28" verticle. Adds up when you also have an Oppo, xbox, and UMC-1 to factor in. D'oh! I can't have anything sticking out the front. Has doors that if proped open with block the drawlers on the sides at 90 degrees. It was designed for amps so there's vents in the floor and the shelves have slits to allow air flow, then vents out at the top. Will probably do an XPA-5 and put it in sideways, and get two UPA-1's for the main facing forward.
Thanks for all your help!

I had a problem with my cabinet as well.....19" deep. Don't forget about connector wires coming in the back. That was the deal breaker for me. I had to cut the back out so the doors in front would shut. I am connecting using RCA's to the UMC (UPA-7) and the cables stick out so far that EFFECTIVE depth is more like 21". Just something else to consider.

Thanks all. Just wanted a simple end to end measurement. Binding post to front. Didn't mean to start anything else. Wasn't trying to combine with my "5 other posts". But since you asked, as for subwoofer, it's not purchased yet. Will either be ML or SVS Sound. I'm still building the room, but got tired of ordering tile, doors, faucets, etc, wanted to start on the fun stuff. Speakers are still in boxes, just going off what other ML owners have said about their "appetite".

What Martin Logan's? I have a set of SL3's and a UPA-2 was not happy about feeding them. My XPA-2 complains much less.
