Roadrunner or any other members who might help.
I hope you don't mind answering an important question for me. I greatly appreciate that you have gone over this with me in past conversations. However, many of my brain files slip into the "trash" folder after some time. I feel there are probably others with the same situation that might be interested in your most knowledgeable guidance.
I have:
XPA-5, ERC-1, Turntable with MM cartridge, plus Oppo BDP-83 DVD/ Blu-Ray, etc with Emo X-Series interconnects. All my components will be very close together (within 0.5 to 2 meters so I have not planned to use XLR cables.) My speakers are 3ea ERM-1's and 2ea ERD-1's plus an Outlaw sub so no need for 2 channel full range. My music will always be 2.1 or 5.1. I plan to add the XMC-1 to complete my system when it is released.
What advantage, if any, would there be in adding the XSP-1 (or the XSP-1 and/or XDA-1) to my system. In other words, I'm asking if the XSP-1 and/or XDA-1 will add any improvement in sound for 2.1 channel analog and/or operational flexibility that I wouldn't already have with just the XMC-1. As you can probably tell, I like to listen to 2 channel music in 5.1 DPL-IIX-Music as well as 2.1 channel analog direct. This depends on the 2 channel source, as sometimes I am willing to trade off some SQ of analog direct for my perceived increase in ambiance that the DPL-IIX-Music adds. (I don't wish to get into the analog direct versus multi-channel DSP for 2 channel sources debate as I enjoy both modes).
Thanks so much for any advice you might offer.

PS: I had originally planned to post this in the XSP-1 HT Bypass thread right after a post by RR. However, I thought maybe it was too far off topic so I changed and decided to open a new thread. I hope not to be too redundant with past threads but most of them seem to be from folks who want full range analog direct. Obviously, all members are welcome to help with advice or suggestions.
