Mine shipped, but they must be driving it in a VW micro bus across country; due to be delivered on November 30th. It's only 4,180 miles, what's the problem?

Where'd you hear of the latter? As far as I know, there have been no specs released on the 95. It's all speculation right now. I found this info on the BDP-95 link: www.musicdirect.com/product/89632Dual HDMI Streaming and 3D capabilities Improved upscaling (Marvell QDEO chip) Newest ESS DAC Balanced (XLR) dedicated stereo outputs Toroidal power supplyMmm, XLR outputs... I need it!

Oppo has made available to the pre-release owners a new firmware. This goes really fast if your connected via ethernet.

It now plays multichannel Flac (5.1) via a flash drive, and FLAC via DLNA is fixed and works for multichannel.
Wow, I had ripped my DVD-As to 96/24 waiting for this, and the UMC showed them as 96 3/2+LFE

May I ask what exactly is flac files? Is it a high quality format re music and songs?
By the way how good is the sound quality from ipod? I found music and songs from ipod sounds louder at the same volume level. I ripped a cd to my ipod and I compared it and found out that. Is it normal for ipod to sound louder?

I have a bunch of DVD-Audio discs, many of which are 96/24 5.1. These are Meredian Lossless files, which is a proprietary compression algorighm.
FLAC is the Free Lossless Audio Codec. I ripped my DVD-A discs to 5.1 Flac so I can have access to them without having to change discs, just have them in my library. Unfortunately I can't rip SACDs this way.
The sound quality from a iPod will depend upon the quality of the music you are playing, and possibly the compression.
When you say "music and songs from ipod sounds louder at the same volume level" what are you comparing it to? Sounds louder than music being played on . . . ?

I mean to play a cd on my blu-ray player at say -30db volume level, I ripped the same cd to my ipod, connect my ipod to my receiver and play it at same volume level, at -30db, ipod is much louder....

Does the volume on your iPod affect the volume on your receiver?

I had problems updating the firmware using the wireless connection, so I switched to an Ethernet connection and the update came on and installed immediately. I connected my hard drive with my flac files to the Oppo 93 and they play and sound great!

The release notes state specifically that you can't update the firmware via wireless. My understanding is that feature is first turned on with the new update.

^^ Correct. Only works after the update, so all future firmware will be able to update via wireless from now on.
