Well I have the same problem as BigV10 except on the Ultra series they appear to be heat molded at the ends so there is no moving or sliding - I presume only cutting I haven't looked that close yet....... To me its inexplicable that Emo would design speaker cables that won't even work with their own amplifiers.....

They actually do have speaker cables that will work with 100% of their amplifiers.

Yep, if someone has a need to make multiple cables that is one of the best routes to take. It is not a "pretty" as the pre-made cables but should work very well. The terminal connection kit is a very good option for finishing-off any DIY speaker cable ...at an excellent price for what you get.

But not really Porscheguy's issue.
He bought the top of the line amps and wanted to match them up to Emo cables that theoretically should work with them. So having to go the DIY route or custom made for speaker cables as his only options, I would be a tad annoyed as well.

If it is the one of the terminals being too far apart, the solution i would use is buy a 2nd pair and run bi-wire. It will only improve things but i understand that it should not be this way and emo should correct this spacing issue on the x-series speaker cable. They should also have 2 meter cables for mono block amps IMO

I have to agree here, the X series cables should work with EMO's top of the line amp. Someone should not be forced to purchase another cable and be forced to bi-wire if they do not wish do do so just because the cables don't work.

if you loosen the binding post you will see there is a hole on the side of hte post. The banana plug will slide in there very nicely and then you just tighten down the post. Easy as pie.

Well Lonnie, I certainly hope you don't find me "angry", just disappointed. I get my new XPA-1's on Friday and after burning them in I now see that my speaker cables will not work with them which is odd. I guess my point was that cables should work with all the amps. :-)

The problem is the terminal ends don't allow 13" between them so they can cover all the real estate needed to reach + -

The problem is the terminal ends don't allow 13" between them so they can cover all the real estate needed to reach + - This is how we have always done it and it works fine. To make sure something hasn't changed, I will check on this again tomorrow when I get into the office.

At this point I wish I had your problem with the cables, that way I would know I have them amps !
They may be next on my list. Would like to see the X series cable work as intended however.

Lonnie is correct. It looks a little unorthodox but if you make the end of the cable into a 'T' shape the banana plugs fit into the post holes from the center outward. It also works well if you don't have much room behind the amp.

Wow! I wish I had known about this. A while back someone had a pair of XPA-1s for about $1,400 (for the pair!). I didn't jump on them because I didn't know/think of this easy solution.
