Do any of the VIPs know when the XSP-1 reserve form will be posted? In the end of Oct. webcast something like "in 10 days" was mentioned (that was about 30 days ago). A little heads up would be nice. I was pretty casual with my XDA-1 reservation and I ended up getting smoked.
It also would be nice to know how long the preorder list at Emofest was and maybe some general insight as to how much demand there will be for the XSP-1.

The October webcast mentioned preorder available shortly, but nothing happened. When is it officially going to happen for real now?

Well, since Emotiva as chosen to remain silence my guess is that an issue has occurred with the XSP-1 or could not be solved in time. So do not expect it for this year and I would'n't hold my breath for January either

Well, since Emotiva as chosen to remain silence my guess is that an issue has occurred with the XSP-1 or could not be solved in time. So do not expect it for this year and I would'n't hold my breath for January either I think that we will be seeing something soon. During the 10/29 podcast, Cathy stated that the XSP-1 was "on the water". A fast boat from China takes 3 to 4 weeks to reach the USA; then it has to go to Customs and who knows how long they will take; then it has to be trucked into TN from CA. If all went well, the shipment is likely sitting in the Custom's warehouse awaiting their stamp of approval... so we may be getting our Christmas "gift", IF there is no snafu at the customs office. Knowing Cathy, she won't put up the Pre-Order List until she hears it has passed Customs inspection... hopefully this coming week. UPDATE:I just realized that I was mixing up the XSP with the XDA. Cathy actually said that it was the XDA that was "ON THE WATER". Sorry to confuse anyone. I guess my desire to get my hands on the XSP-1 imprinted XSP on the earliest shipping product.

I thought I heard on the podcast that the XSP-1 was going in production in the next few days. I will listen to the podcast again.
*UPDATE*
As per PART 2 of the 10/29/10 podcast, the XSP-1 was scheduled to be released to production at any moment and will be available just before Christmas.

Well, I got told that it wouldn't be available until Q1 next year. Maybe that's just for me though.

I was thinking that I wouldn't need the XSP for a few months due to the simplicity of my current setup, but after hearing about all the volume problems, I think an XSP-1 is in order sooner rather than later!
Mark.

what is an xsp-1? i've wondered why emo names its products with little referrence to what what products are... The XSP-1 is the X series stereo preamp. I have always thought that Emotiva named their products with the indication of what they are. Examples. ERC-1 = Emotiva reference cd player, 1st generation UPA-1= Ultra power amp, 1 channel (mono block) XPA-2 = X power amp, 2 channel UMC-1 = Ultra media controller, 1st generation XDA-1 = X series digital to analog converter, 1st generation Well, you get the idea...

XSP-1 is an X series Stereo Preamplifier XPA-2 is an X series 2 channel Power Amplifier XDA-1 is an X series Digital Analog converter UMC-1 is a U series Multi Channel processor It might not seem immediately obvious, but the acronyms make sense...

Dang, I thought XSP-1 meant "1 Xtra Special Preamp".

Do we expect to improve the sound quality further from the XDA-1 or do we just expect additional preamp functionality?
