I think it should be illegal for anyone to get the XDA before me!
Apart from that, I'm anxious to hear your initial impressions on the sound quality...

Seriously, it's been like three hours. Where are the pics, reviews, A/B testing results for the XDA-1 vs. UMC-1, etc.? Slackers

I have my Adcom GCD-575 playing through my XDA-1 right now.
FYI: No manual came with mine. Also, there is a piece of paper inside the remote that is keeping the battery from making contact. So you have to remove the remote cover and pull the paper
Sorry, don't have time for any critical listening right now.

I have until Friday to let Janna know whether I want to order the XDA-1. Can someone please run this thing through its paces and let us (me) know if this is worth buying. I will marry this up with a Pioneer DV-48 and later to a Oppo BP-93.

I will marry this up with a Pioneer DV-48 and later to a Oppo BP-93. You know the reviews are going to be favorable (briank already posted his). You should just buy it and try it out yourself because you have 30 days to evaluate it and if you do decide to return it, the shipping won't set you back too much.

I listened to mine at least 8 hours straight yesterday, going thru one cd after another. It's an awesome piece of gear. Great versatility and awesome SQ. If u buy it, you will love it. :-)

Don't make me do it. Don't make me do it. Don't make me do it. Don't make me do it.

Using my SB3 with Onix XIA 160 - engulfaudio.com/solid-state/34-onix-xia-160.htm and a pair of Onix 1.5s
...so far I am very pleased with the sound-field, very nice separation and depth!
