Any chance of a "trade-in", "trade-up", or discount for existing USP-1 owners who purchased new from Emotiva?

this has always been a "processor" only deal. Due to changes in formats etc.. (i guess?)

You could always just sell the USP-1

Yea... but I have a hunch that the bottom is going to drop out of the value real quick. Take a look at the used prices of LMC-1s

The value of processors tend to drop quickly because of new technology, codecs etc. With Pre-Amps it is a bit different. Still, if you have not already bought a USP-1 I would wait for the XSP-1. I don't think it will be much longer..

The other thing to remember is the XSP isn't replacing the USP, both models will be for sale at different price points. So the XSP shouldn't affect the new or 2nd hand value of the USP.
Surround sound/multi channel processors change very quickly and theres always new codecs coming out etc this is why they lose value extremely quickly but a stereo pre will always be a 2 channel pre amp. All that changes is components and maybe feature sets.
Question should be if you already have the USP is why are you thinking fo changing it, is it not performing to your needs/wants?
