Yep, it is a very good amp in many respects. But it has piss poor crosstalk performance, and I stated this ALONG TIME AGO and took alot of cr@p on this forum for it when I measured significant crosstalk in my review with my equipment(And not on one, but 3 UPA-7's). They even stated the same thing I did: If your using Emo multichannel amps for HT or single zone use, it really don't matter much. But for potential multizone use(using one amp to power a couple zones)is an iffy proposition in some instances where you may need absolute quiet in one room while listening in another as it was for me. I found this out the hard way. Thats why I only recommend the UPA-5/7 and XPA-3/5 for single zone HT use and casual music listening. BUt for the hardcore music enthusiast who wants to squeeze out every last bit of performance from his 2 channel system setup, the UPA-1 and XPA-1's are the way to go if Emotiva is your choice.
One thing I will note, I also measured significant crosstalk in 2 XPA-2's but this place states that the XPA-2 has very low crosstalk as well. Now Im curious if the pair of XPA-2's I demo'd were out of a defective batch? Im going to have to get ahold of another one in the near future.

Can you just cut and paste the article into a lounge post so we don't have to click on anything? Too much trouble. ;D

Just a note, in the audioholics review they don't perform an all channels driven test to see if the amp can do 125 x 7. Also, on the UPA-7 product page, the Audio Precision test data pdf all channels driven test appears to have been done with a 1 kHz signal. Not 20 - 20000 Hz. In addition, the UPA-7 does not meet it's stated gain of 32db. It reaches 29.8db.
With a smallish transformer size of only 850 VA(same unit that's in my XPA 3 channel amp) I'd doubt it can achieve 125 watts per channel with all channels driven from 20 - 20000 Hz. I got curious and looked it up, the Outlaw audio amp 7125 has a much larger transformer, at 1.6 kVa, and 6 output devices per channel compared to the UPA-7 at 4. Still, at the price point the UPA is a decent option, with the above qualifiers.
