That would suck , having to clean ceiling snow after every movie.
These sealed subs should give the new house a structural inspection , especially after I set up the linkwitz transform circuit in the dcx . I should be studying up on that , I have never connected or played with my dcx2496 yet.
Really? O you'll love it! it's has a pretty big learning curve though. Make sure to get the pc software to use it with, it's WAYYYYY better than using the actual unit where all the menus are hidden in other sub menus lol. Right now I'm using butterworth 48's high and low pass to give a flat response to about 16hz before it starts dropping. I gave the sealed subs a 5 db boost @ 20hz so the roll off starts at around 16hz with the butterworths. I haven't even played with any others yet but the 2496 is worth it's weight in gold with multiples. If you have any questions about it, I may be able to help with the setup as I've been on the forums for a month learning how this thing works. I don't have it down pat but I am getting there bit by bit lol
Ya I use the serial port to usb with a driver supplied with the cable. this is the one I use : www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10311&cs_id=1031104&p_id=3726&seq=1&format=4#feedback but win 7 finds the driver so you don't need to load it off the disk. Now that I have everything setup and all my gear is finally here, I'm gonna run audyssey again and see if it makes a difference for the better. I didn't like my results the first 2 times but I also didn't have all matching speakers and the sensitivity were not even close to matching lol Now that I have everything pretty much flat from 80hz to 16hz with the dcx, I'd like to see what it will do. Bob must love it for a reason
Ya instead I bought 2 mal-x's for $200 less than 1 LMS shipped lol. I sold my other 1 about a year ago and bought parts for my Turbo-T and i still wish I'd never had sold it, although I did get 1K for it
ya plus here in Canada they are worth more. I paid $1300 including taxes and shipping to get it here about 3 years ago. so getting 1K for it almost 2 and a half years later was pretty good (It was in a 4 cf box though.
LOL Those things look to be pretty insane, I'm really interested to see the tested numbers on them. I wouldn't have the room for them but when my next place gets build, I'm making sure I will have as many bases covered as possible when it comes to the speakers and sub possible setups.
