Thank goodness, February 15th! It seems like I've been staring at that 1RU "hole" in my rack for ages. My EMO Stack will finally be complete*
*note, I don't actually believe there is such a thing a "complete" in the home theater game, I'm just up against the issue of having run out of Emo components to buy... well then again, maybe I need a few more speakers... hmm, and maybe something for my analog sources.... and maybe.....

What about the volume control? Is it by default logarithmic or a straight amplification now?

What about the volume control? Is it by default logarithmic or a straight amplification now? Janna said today when I was phoning in my order that they are all coming logarithmic now.

I didn´t get any notification today... I have waited for two months. I have a really nice DAC though, maybe Emotiva knows that! ;D
Seriously; I would like to test the XDA-1 against my Musical Fidelity M1!

Emotiva has posted the final version of the XDA-1 manual on-line as so: emotiva.com/xda1/XDA-1_manual.pdfOn page 16 of the 'final' manual under "Technical Specifications", the manual reflects now as, "Internal Volume Control: Digitally controlled precision attenuator." To my understanding of the 'draft' pdf version of the XDA-1 manual, page 16, of which I still electronically possess the pdf, the spec was formerly annotated as, "Internal Volume Control: Digitally controlled in increments of 0.5db." And, under the current Emotiva website product listing, the spec now reflects as, " Internal Volume Control: Digitally controlled in increments of 0.5 steps." (Note: no db) emotiva.com/xda1.shtm

Fired up my linear XDA-1 into a sunfire cinema grand and a pair of jbl 120Ti's and could comfortably get to 60 on the display before the dog showed signs of WTF.
So that said with the UPA-1's I think it's a very different game...more like about 8 IIRC

I think it's a staggered notification. I got mine a few days ago with a window of time to be able to order. If the window passes they say they will move on to the next person in line.

The XDA-1 would be nice, but I really love the idea of getting my fingers on a XSP-1 once available. And I cannot have them all. My place on the list will go to the next in line.

I got my notification last week, but decided to pass and add to the XMC fund, although I'm reasonably certain I'll have all summer to save for that ;D

I'll pass on mine as well. Picked up a used one and saved a few bucks now that the list price went up $50.

they should price the xda-1 at $499 as is now, with log volume. when add a built-in headphone amp and tune the dac to a sound signature like a bryston's, they should price it at $899.

Interesting, I was charged today... which I assume means they got their shipment in early or they're releasing a few that they had in stock... because they typically won't charge until right before they ship. Definitely not 2 weeks ahead of time.
Very excited to get a new piece of emo gear.

Got my email notice and can't wait to get this into my system.
My first external DAC. I don't plan on using the volume control on the XDA-1. I will be plugging it into the stereo balanced inputs of my Anthem. I have my XPA-1's hooked up to the balanced outputs of the Anthem also.

I was charged today as well. I was told I would not be billed until the XDA-1 was shipped to me so I'm hoping for an early delivery.

I just paid for an XPA-2 and XDA-1 to be shipped to Australia. They shipped the XPA-2 (thanks Sarah for being so prompt ) today and I was told that "my XDA-1 would ship as soon it is available". Either I am way down the list (which of course if fair as I only preordered a couple of weeks ago), or they still don't have any. Hoping for it not to take too long as I am going to be using it as a preamp and i don't want to have this awesome amp and pair of speakers with nothing to control them
