I only have the Theatricals on DVD (and one of them is "Full Screen" 4x3 ugh, which is why I don't like getting presents from unknowing people).
I'm definitely ordering these.
I've never even seen the EE.

LOL, maybe it's being released in the US before Canada? I wish the release was happening sooner.

It could be, I have it on preorder form amazon.com also. Funny thing is it's actually cheaper on amazon.ca. I canceled my .com order as well as the starwars order because they are both cheaper in canada. Go figure lol

The only difference I see with amazon.ca is that their offer does not include digital copies. So if that isn't important to you go for the cheaper price. For us in the US, the amazon.com price is actually cheaper once you factor in shipping from Canada.

In general even with shipping, .com is cheaper than .ca for almost everything. Kinda weird that the CDN versions doesn't have the digital copies but to be honest, I've never even used a copy yet

Please don't retire! I might do so myself if you do. I've ordered LOTR BD EE and I can hardly stand the wait.

Just got an email from amazon.ca and the LOTR on the CDN site is exactly the same as on .com with the digital copies. The email said it's just not in the title for some reason. Just an FWI that we get something for cheaper!! lol

OK Theresa I won't! * You need a lot of stamina and nerves of steel to sit through an entire EE of one of the three films from LOTR! What? Each film is about four hours long!!! Since I moved to my new place I simply couldn't watch an entire film! I usually fell asleep way before mid point! -> Did you see me posting in the Movie thread for the last few weeks? Last night for example, I rewatched "Tron Legacy" on BD (luv the soundtrack by the way), but again I just passed out on the couch. I think it'll take some time to readjust... For Movies watching that is. But Music plays constantly at my new place (same as before); all day long except at night when I sleep.

I could never sit through all three in a row! But I do love them. My attention span is so short I need to take breaks during just one.

Since I moved to my new place I simply couldn't watch an entire film! I usually fell asleep way before mid point! I did that when I received the EE versions on DVD for xmas the year they came out. Started at 10am and didn't finish until 2am the next day! (including breaks) As far as falling asleep, one of two thinks are "wrong". your seating is way too comfortable. (how dare you! ) ...and/or two much wine is being served with the movie. (never! )

My family and I spent a "snowed in day" watching the EE versions. That was great way to wait out a blizzard. Love the DTS on that one.

682 minutes to hours is about 11.4 hours. Add 1.6 hours for quick food and breaks, and it is a 13 hour event. Sounds doable!
