Pyle Pro PZR3000 Continuous Power Output
Stereo Mode 20 Hz to 20 kHz, 8 Ohms and 0.1% THD - 200W x 2 1 kHz, 4 Ohms and 0.1% THD - 300W x 2
Bridged Mode 20 Hz to 20 kHz, 8 Ohms and 0.1% THD - 600W x 1 1 kHz, 8 Ohms and 0.1% THD - 600W x 1
I'd say with the FTC regulations in play that these rating are pretty close. However, I wouldn't trust terms like "Maximum Power" and "Peak Power" which really don't tell one much. There is something funny with the bridged ratings. There should be more output when driven into 1 kHz as opposed to 20 Hz - 20 kHz. Perhaps there is a misprint there somewhere.
As long as your sub sounds OK and you can do something about the fan noise that amp should be servicable for sub duty. You might want to see if you can replace that fan with a quieter one.

Hi Bardo, If I were you, I`ll try to get the best speaker possible. I`d keep the 3805, and buy an amp later. I was doing a search in Audiogon, and found this options for you: Swan Diva 4.2 $799.00 (new)Swan Diva 6.2 $789.00 (used)Usher V-604 $995 (demos) Thiel CS1.5 $800.00 (used) Def Tech BP2000 TL $950.00 (used) Paradigm Studio 60 v3 $950 (used) Paradigm Monitor 90p $1000 (used) Paradigm Studio 80 v2 $675.00 (used) Monitor Audio Silver 9i $750 (used) Monitor Audio Rx6 $900 (used) Jamo 507 $525.00 (used) Audio Physics Tempo iii $900.00 (used) Revel F12 $999.00 (demos)Tannoy Dc6t Revolution $849.00 (used) B6W 804 Matrix $795.00 (used)Kef Reference 2 $575.00 (used)The ones in bold are my suggestions, but as everybody is saying, you have to hear for yourself. If you are going to consider Swan Divas then be aware you can also get the Diva 6.1 NEW in the black finish for about $950 (once they are back in stock). Have been considering this for awhile due to budget constraints but think I might actually go with the Maggie MMGs and try and "Gunn" them myself. All of this is subject to DELAY since I'm staring at 4 kids lining up for college...starting in the fall. This will be a 14 year long ordeal. Thankfully the first one has scholarship offers.

thanks jackfish,
i was wondering if that pyle pro amp would be able to run a pair of mmg's better than my denon 3801. the denon is rated at 210W 2ch @ 4ohm but i'm not sure if this is RMS or max. i've emailed denon 5 days ago about this and still haven't been replied yet. if the pyle pro can do 300W, that sounds like a better option perhaps.
currently, i have the pyle pro behind all my other equipment and other stuff to try and block that damned fan (i just run longer cables). IF, i end up trying the 60-day mmg thing, it donned on me last night i could try that unit until down the road when i could get a better solution amp. of course, that would mean the 18" S1S would be out of commission for HT for a bit. so just seeing if that would be a feasible option as it's something i already have. i like free options.
my biggest delay in this is my room. we're in a house we know we're leaving in 2-3 years. my system is in the basement and appears to be a terrible room for planar speakers. one speaker would have a wall behind it, the other would have to have triple the distance due to a cut-out in the wall. there are pillars in the way to prevent me from trouble shooting that aspect given the width of the room between pillars and the massiveness of my rear projection tv. i could maybe move things around so there is a wall behind one MMG and a pillar behind another, but that's probably pretty shoddy.
i love the magnepan sound, but i'm hesitant trying out the MMG's because i might not know if they're the right choice given the circumstances. but i'd hate to get something else when in 2-3 years i may really regret it if the next house would have worked better. so, i hope i find a speaker out there i like more for now and later. for $600 i could get a speaker soon. closer to the $900 range, i'd probably have to wait several more months.

The Denon 3801 is going to be more like 145 wpc, 20Hz-20kHz into 4 Ohms and 0.1% THD driving just the front channels. That should still be enough to adequately drive the MMGs. However, more power is always advisable with them, but they are likely to reveal any amp's shortcomings (actually anything up the chain) and that pro amp might have some. The Pyle's power is likely around 270 wpc, 20Hz-20kHz into 4 Ohms and 0.1% THD.

Thanks jackfish,
that's quite a suggested drop off for the poor denon. 30%! i'm not doubting you, i hear that about receivers like this all the time.
i tend to listen to music from the medium to medium-loud range. rarely i go really loud, but would like that ability for the times i do. whatever speaker i get, hopefully i'm ok power-wise. if not, the UPA-2 has caught my attention and the reason i came to this site/forum. Thanks again everyone.

Yes, with the Maggies, an Emotiva amp would be more appropriate than a Denon receiver IMHO. * By the way, I had the 3805 before (still have it but in its box). It was missing on music; not enough tight bass, and too reserved without presence! My older Yamaha (2092) was much better in that regard, and my XPA-2 was just what the doctor prescribed!

^ That's actually a pretty good idea for your budget. Although the speakers were recently discontinued, you shoudlstill be able to find matching center. I auditioned them when I was looking for speakers and I thought they were great.

If I was a movie guy, (and if my wife wasn't so against it in the living room) I would have kept them and finished the 5.1 system with my MMC-1 and LPA-1. I went less is more because I like music better than movies and I like it in 2-channel, because most of it's recorded that way. I can suffer through missing some multichannel stuff. My wife likes less quantity and more quality in the living room. Sacrifice=Win, win=happy marriage. Though there will be a second sub eventually, edict or no. But that's another story. ;D The T-45 is a darn good speaker for the original $799/pair. Closeouts at around $525 is way bang-for-the-buck. $300 is WAY! P.S. I'd keep them for another room, but my wife will skin me if I start buying more amps, so it's best to remove temptation. That and monitors will work better in that room too.
