I just completed my all Emo system (except for some awesome custom speaker cables by NezFF) and I found the X series digital coax cable to be harsh sounding compared to an older Audioquest I had sitting around IMHO. lpniles, have you tried the X series on cable risers? home.comcast.net/~ridgestreetaudio/CableStand.htmlLOL..cuz 1's and 0's hate being on the floor...

There is a typo in the thread's title; Opnions, should be 'Opinions'.

Cable Risers: The absolute b/s. This is beyond tweako, cultist, subjectivist, nonsensical crap! I don't even believe that this is constitutionally protected free speech. This is flagrant, arrant idiocy!

This is flagrant, arrant idiocy! Whoa! Whoa! You're talking to someone who can hear the harshness in the X cables, ok! He can hear what you can't even measure. So, go measure-off!

www.audioholics.com/education/cables/top-ten-signs-an-audio-cable-vendor-is-selling-you-snake-oilPlease pay particular attention to #5. When the charlatan who think up this gimmick can produce the White Paper and demonstrate objective and open scientific testing to justify or prove his/her contentions, I will be a believer. But, don't tell me crap that he can hear what I can't hear when you don't even know me. How do you know what I can or cannot hear? Why do subjectivists live or die by hearing only? They don't claim superiority with the use of any of the other 4 senses. Hmmm?

How do you know what I can or cannot hear? Why do subjectivists live or die by hearing only? You think risers are b/s so I presumed that you cannot hear the difference in SQ with and without risers. Are you saying that you can hear the difference in SQ using risers?

I'm saying that the theory that elevating cables off the floor improves the signal is silly. I'm also saying that the theory that running or leaving your cables on the floor negatively affects the sound is likewise silly. Until there is scientific evidence that the signal entering one end of the cable is in any wise changed at the other end by raising the cable off the flooring, this theory will remain in voodoo territory. It is pure unadulterated b/s. No offense

Sure, and you're probably one of those who will say that these cables are also snake oil. www.pearcable.com/sub_products_anjou_sc.htmBTW, these are probably the only cables that you can't use risers with because "these are very danceable cables" and they provide "Great swing and pace"; see Dave Clark's review.

What about people with a half million $ Home Theater Room, and in-wall speakers and wires? Are they on risers there too? Or in tubing up high?
