monkumonku, Gotta love Pink Floyd! I was playing devils advocate. My point is we all hear differently, hence the science of Psychoacoustics or Psychotic Individuals. ;D Personally I use the following approach to purchasing new audio equipment: do I hear a difference, is it dramatic? If they are yes: can I afford it? Before I go too deep into the black light room...let us not forget why we are into this stuff...Music! Anything that makes the listening experience more enjoyable real or not is worth it to me. Well that makes sense. It is better reasoning than mine - mine is, do I have any money to spend?

Popular does not equal real, or even good. Tell that to James Cameron. ;D Forget James Cameron. Tell that to Chuck Norris!

Tell that to James Cameron. ;D Forget James Cameron. Tell that to Chuck Norris! Yeah but Chuck Norris could rearrange me so I am not recognizable anymore. ;D YOU tell him! ;D

Well I guess I could recommend that the guy connect all 5 (actually 10) of the posts on the back of the XPA-5 to the two posts on the back of his speakers.

I was going to watch American Idol this evening but I'm going to follow flyhigh's lead - pizza and Emo lounge might prove to be much more entertaining. Where else can we get leprechauns, unicorns, burn ins, bi-wiring and Chuck Norris, all in one single conversation?

Dang. I feel cheated. What in the h_ll am I gonna do with all this popcorn now? First get some glue and carefully dip each piece of popcorn in it. Then place each piece of popcorn on the walls behind your speakers. This guarantee explosive dynamic response and tends to make your music sound more tasteful. Just imagine the improvement you will experience if you use hot buttered popcorn. ;D ;D ;D

Burn in IS a fact at component manufacture, and in some cases during post-manufacture testing of finished units. It's done to weed out defective products, and has no bearing on the subjective performance of the device in question. It either works to spec, or it does not. THIS is the purpose of "burn-in" testing. Having worked for some years in military electronics reliability testing, I have some exposure to this, and might suggest that circuits do not generally improve over time. Rather, the trend is ultimately to increased failure rate as they slowly deteriorate, and wear out. The higher the demands on the device...the faster the degradation. Heat, and vibration being particularly unkind. In summary, when the consumer receives his/her audio component...it is about as burned in as it will ever be. Burn out is the next step.

A photographic representation of the path of all threads involving burn-in, cables, religion and politics.

Cool. I see it as photographic evidence that like vehicles through a choked up intersection, only the strongest, fittest, most sonically pure electrons being able to pass through the properly burned in circuit... Provided the proper cables are used....natch. That's my take on it. ;D

Let's develop a cryogenically treated popcorn kernel, that when popped using a patented process (based on the Golden Equation) yields a grain oriented puff which absorbs the quantum noise contained in the audio signal..... I'm on it.

We could get Emotiva to develop an Audiophile Hi-Res corn popper that also servers as a Universal Media Player that will produce fluffy popped kernels capable of filtering 24/192 signals to ensure the most tasteful output.

Well...24/192 corn doesn't just grow on uhhhhh......stalks.
The High Resolution Popper (HRP-1, upgradeable to 32/384) is in fact under development as we speak.

Come on now. Don't be silly. Everyone knows Popeye popcorn makes for the best popcorn music diffusers. The low frequency absorption is 1.23 x better than Orville's. IT IS FACT.
