Sorry if this has already been posted (I tried a search).
Has there been any information on a possible discount with purchase of an XSP-1 for owners of the USP-1 (similar to the processor discount)?

No there hasn't and I doubt you ever will. The reason for instituting the 40% discount on HT processors has to do with the rapid obsolescents inherent with changes it technology and feature sets. The HT processor you buy today may well be obsolete in a couple of years. The changes in 2-channel preamplifiers are glacial so there is little to no pressure to upgrade every year or two. I used the same preamp for over thirty years. There was just no reason to think I needed to upgrade my preamp to keep up with changes in the industry. Thus no reason to offer a discount to repeat buyers.

I'm with roadrunner on this one. He's exactly correct.
Although, it would be cool if Emotiva did offer a "Loyalty Discount". I know for a fact that SVS does and I think that Outlaw does as well (can't remember for sure).
On the other hand, with as many "sales" as Emotiva offers throughout the year (along with free shipping), such a discount isn't really necessary. As long as they keep bringing the kind of quality products at the prices they offer (and run sales on top of that), I'll keep coming back. ;D

Thanks.
I didn't think there was a pre-amp discount and I understand the reason for the processor upgrade, but it never hurts to ask.
Since the XSP hasn't been released, I am debating about buying a USP or trying to be patient to wait for the XSP. I think I read it's another month or two until XSP release, but there's no guarantee on how soon the XSP will be available. That was why the question on a possible discount. I could buy the USP now and then upgrade and enjoy the XSP.

Since you already own an XDA-1, I would wait for the "balanced" XSP-1.
From what I understand, it's pretty much done (other than tweaking the phono preamp) and shouldn't be much longer.

I'm in the same boat, after hearing from EMO that the XSP is going to be a "giant killer" it makes it truly tough to decide on waiting for the XSP or getting into something right now. Remember that there is always the possibility that the release of the XSP will take longer than we all hope it will. In the same breath, I firmly believe that the XSP will be everything it's expected to be and more!!
