Selecting from my collection (how can I call them "must own" if I don't own them ;D All of these recommendations are going to be based on what I feel is universal appeal, not necessarily only because of insane bass, or amazing picture quality. I will not recommend a second rate BD release. It must be a movie with universal appeal plus great audio and video transfers. I will also try to select from multiple genres and ones that haven't already been listed. Akira (Watch it with the Japanese 5.1 audio) Apocalypse Now (Full disclosure edition) Metropolis (The complete Metropolis edition from Kino) The Departed The Evil Dead (One of best grainy video transfers on the format) Inglourious Basterds I, Robot (A great catalog title that shows what BD is capable of) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (First Disney animated feature) Taxi Driver (This is such a great package and the price is right) The Wizard of OZ For 3D I recommend Tangled.

Some great choices NorthStar, though Gravity left me weightless in opinion. I think U571, and Batman The Dark Knight, and the Transformer movies, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones movies are fun, Star Wars naturally, Battleship was fun. If you can still find it, Speedway on Blu-Ray is amazing. Paul Newman narrates this expose' on the Andretti family racing life in Imax. I think one of the best race Docs I have seen ever. Video and audio quality quite good.
