i purchased an XPA-2 from the emporium (from papamidnight) in May of last year. I have tried contacting him several times to have the warranty transferred to me but I haven't heard back from him. I recently sold the unit to another forum member and I'd like to get the warranty to him.
Is there any possible way that the warranty can be transferred without the original owner's information? Couldn't Emo do a serial number lookup?

That question is best asked directly to Emotiva by e-mail or phone

If you have the serial number they should transfer it because they realize you are going to run into sellers who don't communicate well (like the guy you bought yours from).

I always do the warranty transfer myself on used Emo products I buy. They will need to know who the original owner was. So, if you know papamidnight's name and address you should be good to go.
Unfortunately they do not have the ability to track product by serial number. That sounds utterly impossible to believe, but that was told to me emphatically by Emo customer service.
If they can't (or you can't) determine who the original owner was, they will still put a warranty on it by estimating an original sale date. This is pretty cool on their behalf, I have to admit.

recently I bought my USP-1 from audiogon, I am the 3rd owner. The seller gave me the original owner's phone and address from the box because it was shipped to him by the original owner.
If you still have have the box check the shipping label on the box.

Landsdalehokie: Don't forget to post back and let us know the outcome. This will be important for many of us in the near future as we shed old gears for the new ones coming to market. Thanx!
