I wonder if Vince was thinking about the XMC-1's release date. Based on all that has recently been revealed by Emotiva that is the time frame I would have expected for the new incarnation of the XMC-1. During a phone call that I had with Dan in late December he said that the XSP-1's design was locked and was in product-line engineering. He said as soon as that was completed it would be placed in the queue for production run, and if all went smoothly, we would see the XSP-1 in late January or early Feb. Also, Dan posted on the Lounge, Dec 31st that the XSP-1 design was now completed and would be in production very soon. Click on the link below to see Dan's post. emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=preampdac&thread=19364&page=11#353747Unless there has been a major change of priority, I don't see how Vince's e-mail could actually be about the XSP-1. At any rate, Emotiva will likely do a podcast within a week and should clear up any misunderstanding on the production status.

Yes it is. I held off getting the USP-1 during the emofest sale and Christmas sale expecting to get a the XSP-1 at the first of the year. I could have had the USP-1 back in September for the sale price less the $50 emo bucks certificate. This new development is confusing and aggravating.

It would be fantastic if they could keep some time between the rollout of the XSP and the XMC so we can budget/squirrel away funds for both! Just for my wife's sanity. LOL

I wonder if someone in the US could take the time to call Emo and seek clarification.

This is beyond strange to me. How does something go from "released for production" a month ago to essentially "should be available in six to nine months"?
I've been interested in this piece since before it was the XSP-1. It was simply referred to as the "next generation stereo pre-amp in development". This was way back when the RSP-2 went extinct. I could swear that was like four years ago. I wish Big Dan would weigh in on this and give a solid date so I could start budgeting. My toy fund tends to evaporate when it sits too long :-)

Could it be this pre-amp will be light years away compare to any pre-amps existed today?

My mom used to say, "it'll be ready, when it's ready". How utterly profound I thought, as a kid..
We can go on and on about being disappointed, but such is life. We have no control over the situation, so let's just wait to hear an update from Dan.

Oh I know, we've beat this poor horse to death. For me at least it is all in good fun (and anticipation). Believe me, if I didn't love this company and it's products, I would have gone elsewhere for a new pre-amp by now. I at least want to see the finished product and a few reviews before I make a move.

I wasn't emotiva fan till I purchase their UPA-2 and hear what it brings to the table. It produce what it was intended to do amplify whatever signal from the pre-amp to drive a speaker with nothing being added or remove. Their price are something we all like and their product provide more performance on their asking price.

At the time they axed it they said parts had gone up so they decided to stop production. Why in the world didn't they just pass along the added costs to us? They did this last January when amp prices went up across the board, it would have been no big deal. Instead we've had no flagship pre-amp for 4 years. I don't see the logic.

Shoot! I am glad I bought I my USP 1 during the year end sale, I guess I'll add a Grant Fidelity Tube Buffer w/updated Tubes to it and call it a day, after all my system does sound fantastic at the moment.
