Ok, so I am pretty new to this and really have not put these two through the paces, YET. I currently have a Yamaha RX-V1900, XPA-2, ERC-1, and Polk RTi-A9's, setup in a small bedroom temporarily. I just unplugged my Adcom GFA-5500 AND Yamaha DVD player (which I used to primarily play cd's). I hurried home today and put in Judas Priest Turbo Lover. Yes, I am old and still love old fashioned rock, clean and loud. Boy is there ever a difference in not only the bass but the highs!!! I can now clearly hear all of the highs, cymbals, and more sounds I have never heard. The Yamaha at about 8 (normal listening is about 40-30 or so) put the Emo XPA-2 to about half of the volume led's.... Was not super loud, but sounded amazing and all of a sudden, a breaker blew. I turned everything off and went outside to reset. Now my dog and wife are home and cannot test anymore tonight. So, I plan to play some new Death Cab for Cutie and possibly a really clear Fleetwood Mac CD that sounds amazing. I'm hoping to not blow any more breakers, but I am sure glad I made the switch to these two fine units. These will eventually be moved back to the living room after the built ins are built. Im loving it now.

Hey there moto.. or should I say... "Hello, Moto?" ;D
Welcome to the lounge! The XPA-2 is serious amplification and you're finding that. The XPA-2 at half the LEDs lit up throws out a lot of volume!
If you have a lot of stuff plugged into the same circuit, see if you can move some onto another circuit. That may help prevent blowing out breakers.
Feel free to ask questions and the good folks here will help you out. Welcome again.

Geebo, Sorry, I haven't even been drinking tonight, but wanted to at least post something to let you all know I love the two Emo pieces thus far. Like I said, I have not had time to play with either, but yes, the XPA-2 puts out serious power. There is no comparison with the Adcom GFA 5500. I know its old, but I thought would last forever. The Emotiva is beefier and sounds clearer. Hope that all helps and yes, I will need to move the receiver or cd player off to another circuit. OR, just not play Turbo Lover so my neighbors can hear !! LOL, Moto

LOL, Moto Happy to hear that. By the way, I was being a bit sarcastic when I asked what it was you were trying to say. I knew exactly what you were saying because I went thru pretty much the same experience...but without the blown breakers. I have been impressed with each piece of Emo equipment I've bought and will buy more. ;D George
