Well like it or not, its out today. I for one am looking forward to a screening after I get done with a departmental function tonight. I'll probably start with Episode IV though as I really want to see how the original trilogy was treated!

Why all the hate? I love Star Wars I don't care what he does to them. Heck I even like Jar Jar. Shoot, Lucas had a fat x wing pilot named Porkins in the original. How cheezy is that? The whole movies foundation was built on cheez... I think it great.

Also something I would like to see Mr. Lucas change is in the original where Vader and the mucky-mucks are discussing how powerful the death star is and the one jackass pipes up and say he's not scared of Vaders sorcerers ways(or something to that effect) then Vader chokes him out and the old guy says that's enough Lord Vader. Who's this old guy to tell Vader what to do? I thought the chain of command went Emperor--Vader--who ever else that matters. If George Lucas wants to make scene changes he should add a scene where Vader turns to look at the old guy and then proceeds to choke the living sh** out of him too.

Or at least have Tarkin say, " Please stop choking him."

No he isn't. He's some 2-bit actor and the guy in the Vader costume should have beat him with the boom mic. ;D ;D ;D

I just finished watching episode IV. I haven't seen it since the last time I watched it on VHS, and I had very low expectations. Overall, I am very impressed with the quality of the originals and am very happy that I purchased it. In the scene where Vader chokes the guy (the one you guys are talking about) my whole room shook

So far I've put in Episodes I, II and III, the audio is outstanding. As for the video, I'm quite pleased though I don't own these on DVD so I have no basis for comparison.

Just my thoughts so far... Episode IV. Picture I would give it a 3.85/5. Audio 4.5/5. There was some audio hiccups/hesitation from some scene transitions. As I recall it was about 3 noticeable ones throughout the movie. Episode V. Picture 3.85/5. Audio. 4/5.( During the crawl on the opening I heard a loud pop/scratch coming from my center speaker. My wife actually thought she broke her glass of ice tea. It was that loud. Anyone else have this issue. The rest of the movie so far is ok(1/3 of the way through) I am going to rewatch the crawl tomorrow to see if it is in the recording? The BASS is reference across the board and in the right spots were it needed to be. Great Job Audio Engineers!

^ How do you like your Panny DMP-BDT350 BD player?

^ How do you like your Panny DMP-BDT350 BD player? For me, it is the best Blu ray player I have owned. The first movie we watched was The Dark Knight. There was an immediate improvement in the color and near inky blacks compared to my old Sony 360(it had a yellow push and blacks seemed gray) that was being replaced. There was very little calibrating adjustments that I made. I was looking at any Oppo at that time frame but due to budget restrictions I was keeping my eye on the Panny. I have a Sony 470 in the bedroom. The only Blu ray disc issue I have run into was Top Gun. I purchased it in the beginning of the month and have had trouble with "disc cannot be read". Firmware is current, Paramount is sending out a replacement disc, I took back the Blu ray to best buy for a return replacement. The second copy had the same issues.
