Hi everyone, I would like to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Jacci Rose. I am a thunderstorm & nature photographer from tropical Darwin in the Northern Territory, Australia. Darwin is well known for experiencing some of the most violent electrical storms in the world during the wet season months and, of course, my gear is well equipped with surge protection. lol I have an interest in good quality audio equipment, and have so for quite a few years. I recently bought a new amplifier from Emotiva for my sound system, the XPA-2. I am really happy with this purchase. I read many reviews and put a lot of thought and homework into my final decision. One thing I would like to say about this amplifier is that the sound quality is absolutely AMAZING! I was gob-smacked by the detail and clarity this amplifier produces when paired up to my Richter Emperor floor standers. I can now see why Emotiva has so many fans. The XPA-2 puts my Denon AVR and Mackie FR2600 power amplifier to shame in so many ways! lol ;D I still use the Denon as a pre-amplifier for the XPA-2. I'm looking forward to learning from people on this site as well as sharing some of my own experiences and having a good time. Thank you, Emotiva, for an amazing product. Kind regards, Jacci.

Welcome! I've never been over to Darwin but Far North Queensland is one of my favorite parts of your beautiful country. I visit Cairns every time I can.

There is nothing like being on the back veranda with a beer watching the first storms of the season roll in. All this while listening to music from my Emo outdoor speakers too.
Dave.

Hi Jacci and welcome to the Emotiva Lounge. Feel free to jump in with your experience, questions and hopefully some of your photos. There is a thread in the Green Room titled "All things photography." You might have to look on the second page. Your photos would be much appreciated there. I am the head Nut here and there are many assistant nuts. One I need to warn you about (keep this between you and me) is LOTR. He calls himself Bob and he is a genuine certified nut. Next thing you know after he attempts his French Canadian charm on you is he'll be on his way over to Darwin. Just take him out to Murrumujuk and dump him, thanks. After the guys see this below there will probably be a charter plane on its way to Darwin next August. ".......... The Darwin beer-can regatta, held in August, celebrates Darwin's love affair with beer and contestants' race boats made exclusively of beer cans..........." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin_beer-can_regattaTheresa is going to be ecstatic when she sees there is another female at the Lounge. Please make yourself right at home here. Chuckie ;D

Wow thank you for the welcome everyone. I really appreciate it. I'm glad I'm not the only woman out there who appreciates good sound. LOL I'm looking forward to contributing to the forums. Thanks for telling me where the photography thread is too, I'd love to share some photos! I shoot with both Nikon and Canon cameras, which saves me getting into those 'holden vs ford' agruments with fellow photogs' haha I own the full frame Nikon D700 which I used with wide angle Nikkor N series glass for storms/landscapes, and a Canon 7D (for birds and wildlife) which I use with a 300mm f/2.8 L IS often coupled with a 2.0x teleconverter. The build-up to the wet season is already unfolding, along with the mango madness and oppressive humidity. It shouldn't be long now before I'm out there again, chasing those big sparky cauliflower towers!

Yes, welcome. Its good to have another female here. It sometimes is a bit too masculine.
I've got a long history in audio too, since helping my father assemble a Dynaco outfit when I was a pre-teen. I haven't heard the XPA-2 but from all accounts its more "dynamic" than my XPA-3.
