I saw Sevendust here in the Savannah/Hilton Head Island area last night. That had to be one of the greatest nights I've ever had! They put on just such an awesome show!If all good concerts are like that, then I see why they are so enjoyable. There were 2 other bands that played before them, Taproot and another band from Atlanta called Dear Enemy. Taproot was rather disappointing live, but Dear Enemy put on a good show.

Here is a link that describes it well: www.sa-cd.net/showthread/29209/29209It doesn't require anything special to play them. I don't know if they are considered 'snake oil' technology or not. I haven't heard one yet. The other Doug

SHM = Suspicious Hilarious Magic. Do you have any experience with Gold CDs? Do they make a noticeable difference over a standard material CD? Doug

Doug I have never had the opportunity to compare a gold CD version with the exact same tracks on aluminum, mainly because all the gold CDs I have used also happen to be either MFSL or at least remastered versions. I cannot say if the gold by itself makes any difference. I can tell you the SHM plastic makes no difference what so ever... well at least none that can be measured or heard.

Thank you for the response. I would like to believe that they do make a difference since a company like MSFL use it so prominently, but wanted to get feedback on it. They (MSFL) has a version of Jennifer Warnes - The Hunter coming out at $29.95. I wanted to get an idea of whether it will be worth it over a standard CD. The other Doug

IMO *everything* from MFSL is superior to and sounds better than the commercial version. Whether that's because of the gold CD or simply because of better mastering is something I never really thought much about... If you like something they decide to release, I don't think you could go wrong.

Yes I have quit a few MFSL gold CD`s too & they do sound superior to standard CD`s & I think it`s probably because of both the mastering & gold but more so to the mastering I would think , IMHO.

Thank you for the comments on the gold discs. I don't mind spending that much as long as there is a difference. I hate to think what I spent on all of the DVD-Audio and SACD discs the last year. The other Doug
