Been gearing up for the Ronnie Earl concert tonight at my local venue. He was here last year at this time and had several guests. It was a super great time. Hoping for the same this year.
Any guests this year? How was it? good as last year?

Yes, another guitarist and a sax player who was excellent. I don't remember either name but they were good. There was supposed to be a young guitarist but he was a no show - missed his big opportunity. I thought last year was a bit better. I have some video on my wife's phone that I will try to upload later. Ronnie is always a pleasure to see despite his failing health.

Sufjan Stevens - The BQE - 2009 The Brooklyn Queens Expressway BQE is an ambitious project with full orchestra and a classical cross over. It is a really nice piece from an artist that I have praised numerous times on this thread. The First Movement "In the Countenance of Kings" The Second Movement "Sleeping Invader" The Third Movement "Linear Tableau" Spin Again and it's been a few years too but just a fantastic composition!

Lilys - Eccsame the Photon Band - 1995 My favorite from the band and I have them all. I just can't get enough of this slow grunge modern psychedelic music. Spin Again By far my most favorite of The Lily's. A very chill recording.

Beck - "Hyperspace" This is really good, IMHO. Masterpiece comes to mind.

Ramona Falls - Prophet - 2012 This is Brent Knoph who left Menomena to start his own journey. A really nice album for those that like it served on an eclectic playte. Each song pretty much stands on its own but here are a few to sample. I love having my stereo back in action and playing my version of Oldies but Goodies. I made peace with the fact that my eclectic tastes do not make the top 40 but that's okay as I can tell from most of us here!

Kristin Hersh - Sunny Border Blue - 2001 Well I have posted so many of her various works and this is still one of my favorites from her. Spin Again on Quoboz to try it out! Great album by Kristen! Probably the best cover of Cat Stevens I have heard. Spin Again, Again having fun listening to music and watching Monday Night Football as this game is a runaway. Having more fun.

Dum Dum Girls - Only in Dreams - 2011 www.mog.comThis band is new for me and I heard the "Coming Down" ballad track on Sirius radio. You can tell that the vocalist has power in reserve on this track and that she could knock us on the floor at any moment. I love this style of singing as I never know if the register is coming or not but I listen for it, then just before the 4 minute mark it comes followed by all instruments trailing down and back up. Nice song structure. I really dig mog radio to check out these new bands. Hey I dig that.I have made a note of the band so I can check them out further and when I have time I need to check this thread out further.Thanks. Reliving this one.
