LOLOLOL @ w27! LOTREE has nothing to worry about from me...I'm too busy being an Admin on two other forums, plus a participant on not only this one but several others.
Good News!!! The Wait is almost over and I will be able to resume The Journey shortly. All my amps made it out of Kansas right after the storm and have now arrived in Portland. I'll pick them up this afternoon!!!

Let me get this straight... You just joined the forum about a month ago, racked up a few hundred posts already, and you don't even have any of the Emotiva pieces yet? WOW! I definitely think you've become a lounge lizard. LordOfTheRingsEE you better watch out, he's going to catch up to you in no time! I just hope you like em Me too! * 300 posts or so per month is nothing to fret about. ** Try 900+ per month over at Audioholics and see what happens. ;D

Yes, it is definitely a start! I have a houseful of folks coming over this evening so there's no use trying to get this all set up and running today, although it's killing me!!! ;D
I think I'll start tomorrow. I should have the system plugged in and Audyssey initial calibration done by tomorrow night. The Integra is gonna take me a bit to sort out and tweak.

I think I better get a picture or two of the stack of boxes...

Congrats, the menu on the Integra is no fun. I have the older version, the DHC-9.9, but I think they're pretty similar. I've been pretty happy overall with the unit, but there was a lot of frustration to get me to where I am today with it. I'll be glad to offer any advice I can with setup

Thanks for the offer! I'm gonna give it a go...I've been reading the manual off and on since I picked up the unit last week. It doesn't look like a lot of fun but, all in all, it looks one heck of a lot easier than Denon setup!
Since I have a URC MX-880 remote control. I will need the audio tech to come out to re-program it for the new stuff. He can finish the setup for me.

The things that really stand out were the different dynamic settings, and when using the Audyssey it sets each channel to almost the maximum negative setting when using a big amp. It really killed my headroom. Overriding that gave me big improvements in bass, even at low levels. Good luck

So when you did the override on the auto settings, are you saying you have it set to Direct for some inputs or are you referring to another setting?

No, when Audyssey does the room calibration it sets the level for each speaker based on distance from the listening position. If you have lots of power or very efficient speakers it sets all the levels way into the negatives. It seems to make zero on the dial reference level. When I used different dynamic settings (say dynamic high) to keep the explosions from shaking the whole house late at night. On some passages I could have the volume up 100% and barely hear what they were saying! That's using all Klipsch RF-7's with over 100db efficiency and over 200 watts per channel. I've seen many others with the same problem.
You can set the levels yourself with a spl meter, or just add the same number to the settings that Audyssey makes. Example: Audyssey makes your front -11 your center -10.5... etc you could add 20 to all of the settings. So now you front is +9 your center would be 9.5. It made a huge difference. I hear there is even a smart phone spl meter app that is supposed to be pretty good.
Once you start fooling with it you'll understand more. It's tricky. Once it sees the power of those big mono blocks it's going to want to restrict you. Maybe partially to try to protect your speakers, but it still robs your power.

ahhh...I got ya! That's good info. Thanks!
This should be interesting. I am just finishing up with the interconnects and speaker cables. I'll be firing things up soon.
