Question! Could I use my JBL PB-10 (it is downfiring) as my second subwoofer with my SVS PB12-Plus? If so, how do I position them. I have an open floor plan with only 1 90 degree corner on the wall that my home theater is on. The rest of the room opens to the entrance and kitchen with dining room in back. Attachments:

Indeed you can. I would leave the SVS where it is and place the other sub on the other side of the gear. Ideally you could place it behind the listening position but that may not be practical (due to running cables, or lack of space behind).
That said, experimentation is the key to success with sub placement.

BTW, make sure to blend them in as best as possible and use crossover frequency and slope settings judiciously. Proper phase settings will require trial and error.

You could also try just stacking it on top of the existing sub, assuming the existing one sounds good in that location. Makes installiang a Y-cable pretty easy too.

Do I correctly sense the beginning of a movement to dual subs on this forum? well done LC ;D I'm doing my best to move to dual subs. I built a pair of F25 enclosures back in February and am now waiting on Rythmik to release their HX800 amps. Dave.

Your layout looks very similar to mine, just mirror imaged. I bought a X-Ref-10 at the very beginning of the sale and will be buying a second one on Tuesday. ;D I see you are right down the road from me- I live near downtown O Town.

You won't regret buying the second one. The next time they go on sale you may want to buy 2 more. I have found using 4 subs provide an awesome synergy of bass and shake. ;D

I would suggest the X-Ref-12 if in your budget. Nice knowing that someone else is in the area.

Thanks Rich, SVS just sent my subwoofer out on Friday by R&L Freight, so I'm just very surprised that it has made it to Atlanta already. Normally when anything that I order that makes it to Atlanta, gets delivered the next day, so two days earlier than expected would be fine with me. ;D

LC, Thanks for giving me the credit but I'm just following Nate's lead on this! ;D It seems that a vicious cycle has been started, but now who will Nate give credit to? ;D My credit goes probably goes to Mark of Mach 5 audio for giving me his cost on all his stuff and really helping me out when I first started DIY lol and just wanting the biggest, baddest system I could imagine. AVS DIY forum also helped a lot. I've bough over 30 drivers from Mark, as well as sold probably 200-300 drivers for him over the years lol. As Eric says "N8 you love spending other people's money" ;D Mark will never admit he gave me my condition but he does tell everyone that he created a monster LOL
