Like all Emotiva power amps, the Mini X is totally neutral. It will not color the sound in any way. Hook it up once you get it and enjoy good clean power. It sounds just like the other Emotiva amps -- just smaller and cuter. That statement is 100% TRUTH!

Hi all,
Received my Emotiva miniX a-100 a couple of days back. Very sleek & neat finish, small & cute. Presently hooked up to Marantz CDP 5003 and Mordaunt-Short Aviano-2 speakers. Letting it burn-in, after 5 hours bass has improved, and mid-range is also opening up.
Cheers,
N.Murali

question ..if one was using this amp with a line out from your computer, how would you go about hooking up a sub with a 2 channel set up using your CPU as your preamp?..i must be missing it.
would like to get one of these..

question ..if one was using this amp with a line out from your computer, how would you go about hooking up a sub with a 2 channel set up using your CPU as your preamp?..i must be missing it. would like to get one of these.. Your sub has to have "full range signal input" (not the same thing as "line level") with output for speakers (so the sub does the crossover and keeps the lower range for itself), or if the sub doesn't have this you can buy devices on amazon that will convert full signal to line level. I have no idea what that does to the ohm rating / draw on the amp or if that is recommended or not, but short of buying a DAC to use as the preamp there is not much other choice that I'm aware of. I just picked up this amp this week though, very nice for the job it has to do. One recommendation, if you're going to use this to power computer speakers then get a decent DAC (like the one Emotiva offers) or buy a proper soundcard, the onboard / audigy / gaming stuff is horrible, get a nice MOTU usb / firewire or something Not only will the sound be better, but onboard soundcards generally do not output proper line level signals so your amp will really have to work to boost the level.

the issue pc sound cards is going from grounded to ungrounded until someone build a amp with a 3.5mm audio input.. not much will change..
until then sp/dif or seek someone who builds rca based multi channel soundcards..
