**WARNING! THE FOLLOWING THREAD CONTAINS THE PURCHASING OF SPEAKER CABLES** I finally took the plunge this morning and bought a set of quality cables I've wanted for a really long time. I did the homework first. The build quality looks absolutely top notch for a rather surprising budget price but I will truly know when they arrive. They are from a small Danish company called Vipera. I bought their top of the line interconnects and 5.0m speaker cables as an upgrade for my system. I'm quite the cable 'agnostic' and skeptical when it comes to the discussions between the 'yays' and 'nays' but I will share my experiences with these products when they arrive. I mostly bought them for their build quality, looks and bang for the buck. They appear very rugged yet pleasing to the eye. I will give my dead-set honest opinions and impressions on the product's build quality and, of course, sound (if indeed there is a difference). If there is no noticeable difference in sound to me through my system, I will tell the truth which may come as a great favor for others who are standing on the fence curiously about this. If anyone is interested, here is the Vipera website: vipera-cables.com/viperacables_us/Watch this space for pics and review comments to follow.

uhh... I may be misunderstanding the cost, but I don't see budget prices on the website.... unless I'm missing something. Love the look, though, the the build quality seems amazing

They look real nice Jacci. BUT! Can you please tell us the price you paid for the pair? And 5.0 meter, is that total for the pair, or each single speaker wire? Transmission of Emotions; yep, that sounds just right. ;D

Alright, now we'll wait for the final results; your honest opinion from your own set of ears. Then we'll take it from there...

Jacci,
Do you have any Emo cables? Just curious how they would compare.
Dave.

Hi guys Sorry about the delay getting back to everyone about this. I've been rather busy lately and between the couple of weeks it took to recieve my order and try them out in my system for over a week. Below is my honest opinion and experience. My post is not technical but hopefully some will find this information helpful. I took the plunge and put myself in a position where I was able to make up my own mind. I understand and respect the views and opinions of those who are skeptical about this contraversial topic. Here's is a quote from an email I just sent Kenneth, the founder of Vipera.. After my experience, to say that "I heard no difference at all" for the sake of keeping my nose out of a debate or avoid an attack from someone would be a lie. I have put my foot in but with a very honest opinion based on my own experience, no BS included. I call a spade a spade and that is that. What do I recommend to everyone? I recommend you be the judge based on your own experiences whether they correspond with my thoughts or not. Everyone's system, tastes and situation is different so there is certainly not going to be any 'universal' improvement to everyone. Get out there, experiment and most of all, just have fun listening. Have a great week everyone. Jacci.

Thanks Jacci for sharing this with all of us. * I had similar experiences with Interconnects & Speaker wires in the past, so I can totally relate to what you just said. Best, Bob

^^^
What do you have in your system? I'm a firm believer that you will not hear any difference in cables unless your system is good enough to distinguish a difference. Most of the nay-sayers have mid-fi equipment where the cabling is not the weakest link. The better your equipment, the more able it is to discern a difference in cabling.
Enjoy the music!

Hi guys. My 2 channel system are the following: Power Amplifier - Emotiva XPA-2 Main Speakers - Richter Acoustics 'Emperor' (2001 flagship). Soundocity Outriggers. Sourse - Panasonic BDP via HDMI out. (pure audio mode) Pro/Pro/DAC - Denon AVR-3806 in pure direct mode - AL24 Processing Plus. The room is not the best and is a rather typical tile-floored lounge room situation. There is some light room treatment with a few aucoustic tiles on a wall and plenty of soft furnature/cushions around the room to reduce standing waves. I bought a nice big floor rug too which is in the middle of the room and covers most of the tiles. The system is quite basic but it's performance is stunning. The weakest link in this setup would be the Panasonic BDP I believe but by bypassing the internal DAC via HDMI I let the Denon's AL24 DACs do the work. The only other components I think I would need in my system is a nice rack and a dedicated sacd player. I'm a real happy camper with the Denon/XPA-2/Richter combination. Thanks for viewing.
