I reserved an XPA-2 on 12/16/11 and was told that will receive it in late January 2012. So far, I have been waiting for a full month and still have not receive anything from Emotiva until today I emailed them for status of the order. Then they told me I will receive it in late February now. Is this a good customer service from Emotiva? Does anyone have a same situation? Someone from Emotiva please explain why they don't inform their customer when they couldn't delivery their product on time. It's really disappoint their customers with this kind of service. Now I need to think again if this company can be trusted even I read many positive feedbacks about this company. Any opinion folks? should I continue to wait or look for other brand amps?

You are the victim of Chinese New Year. Emotiva gave you an honest estimation of when the next batch of XPA-2 amps would make their way to the United States. They guessed Late January. The problem is that everything in China shuts down during observation of Chinese New Year which starts Jan 23rd this year. Every company doing business in China is aware of the fact the nation shuts down during New Years and compete with all other exporters from China to book space on cargo ships. If you aren't able to reserve space on a cargo ship in time you may have to wait about a month to find the next available space on a ship.
It sounds like the competition for space of container ships was stronger than expected and Emotiva has no choice but to sit with their hands in their pockets while the whold country of China shut down all business. The factory doors close, the trucking companies cease picking up shipments, dock workers stop loading ships, and everyone celebrates for a few weeks.
As much as Emotiva would like to get product back in stock to fulfill its customer's orders they cannot. Believe me Emotiva is more disappointed about this than you are, but they are helpless to do anything about it. This is part of doing business in China. Try to be patient. You will be rewarded with one of the best amplifiers money can buy for your patience.

I know you are disappointed by the wait, but you are going to be so happy with the sound. Believe us all that the XPA-2 is worth waiting for. I know because I have one and it is a beast of an amp in power and size.
A lot of us hear on the forum have owned other equipment, some more expensive and we keep coming back to Emotiva because they make a great product at a great price and offer the service to match.
What other company has a five year warranty that is transferrable to the second owner and beyond and that company have a 40% off coupon for it's upcoming processor when you buy their current one, come on name the company.
What other company has a gathering of it's customers, Emofest where you get food and entertainment and get a chance to talk to and see the owners and other forum members and the new products coming out and even a chance to buy products on hand, please name that company.
They offer sales on their products like clock work three times a year, have a forum that allows you to voice your opinion and get help from some of the smartest and gifted people ever to be on a forum. They even have a podcast from time to time. And some times when you call them you might actually get the owner's wife, Cathy on the phone or Product Engineer and VP Lonnie on the phone, I got Cathy when I bought.
Sometimes we have problems with our equipment like any other customer with any other company, but what makes a company great is not the problems but how they handle the solution to the problems and that's why you hear the glowing reviews in the forum.
A lot of us are waiting on the new gear that Emotiva has coming out, the XMC-1, XSP-1 and XPR series of amps and we have been waiting longer than you have, but this is a company that wants and needs to get it right and learns and listen to their customers and constantly improves their products. Their customer service is excellent. Your purchase will be worth the wait.
On other forums some consider us like a cult, but we are more of a family, The Emotiva Family. I realize that you are the new kid on this block, but sit down, take your shoes off and relax and when your XPA-2 comes you will enjoy the ride!!! ;D ;D ;D

It's amazing that the whole country can shut down like that without issue. Probably holding up the XSP 1 as well.

should I continue to wait or look for other brand amps? Only you can make that call. It was not in stock at the time you placed your order so there is always a question as to when it will be. Why? Because of the holiday sale and stock flew off the shelves. It is hard to wait and while you are you can always look for an alternative. The problem is competitors are few and far between for these amps. You can find alternatives and some of them may be better but they will almost always cost more. Let us know what you decide. JD

I am in the medical manufacturing space and this time of the year China messes up my delivery schedule to my customers when the country goes on holiday. So Emotiva is not the only one with delivery issues. Part of doing business with China.

These things happen man. It could and does happen with every company out there. Emotiva is a good honest company, and it seems like they are just delayed. Be patient and you will be happy with the amp. If not, then move on and get something else.

should I continue to wait or look for other brand amps? Only you can answer that question. However, you will not be dissapointed if you wait. The XPA-2 is an awesome amp and is priced very reasonably compared to other amps in it's class. I have one and love it!! ;D And you might be dissapointed if you buy another brand because of the price and performance compared to Emo's price & performance.

You are not going to find anything near that quality or power unless you spend a lot more money. It is worth waiting for. I had one and loved it.. except I love the XPA-1's more. ;D Emo amps offer a lot for the money, and are great amps period, regardless of price.

they are good guys/gals over there. I realized i was missing a rubber feet from my X-ref purchase back in september. Not sure if it was my fault or theirs by not including it. They sent one out with no probs.

There are things beyond Emotiva's control at work here but I'd like to focus on another reason for waiting...why you made your choice in the first place. You picked the amp for some good reasons. I know it's hard to wait. But when the wait is over, you will be very pleased with the outcome.
Hang in there!

Being out of stock is not bad customer service. Since you obviously can't wait, get something else. So what if you wind up paying more for less, you have it now, right?

Thank you guys for all the inputs. Emo really has lot of supporters here. I will stick with the XPA-2 and hopefully I won't be disappointed again. BTW, I still think EMO has responsibility to inform their customers about any delays to their product. That will save their time and customer's time by avoiding all the unnecessary calls or emails.
